N2N Bodywear – UN13 Classic Cotton Boxer – Yellow – Medium

Material: 90% Cotton, 10% Spandex, incredibly soft and super lightweight! The latter comes from the fact that it also feels like the fabric is intentionally on the thin side, and somewhat loose. Also advertised as having “four-way stretch”, which I’m uncertain as to the exact meaning of that phrase.
Aesthetic: Simple and comfy, with a practical black waistband.
Waistband: Feeling-wise, what you expect of most waistbands. Sits between the hips and waist; good size.
Pouch: N2N calls it their “N-hance” pouch, and it certainly does provide a nice bit of enhancement! I find it similar to AC’s Almost Naked in terms of roominess and range of motion but definitely different in that the upper part of the pouch is a little more solidly shaped and that there’s a seam/hem/trim/piping/whatever that defines the pouch by looping from the waistband down beneath your balls (you can really see its effect in the leftmost image above). I like N-hance for providing that extra bit of structure that Almost Naked doesn’t have, but at the same time you run the risk of that structure being maybe an eighth of an inch too high, which occasionally puts a bit of strain on the underside of the scrotum.
Backside: Not much to write home about here since the pair is, overall, a bit on the loose side. That might be from age, but even the pics on N2N’s website show very little shape – no real curve under the cheeks, either between each other or between them and the legs. The looseness might also cause the occasional wedgie, but nothing incredibly offensive (especially if you like thongs). If you’re not looking to show anything off, it’s really comfy. Tag is unnoticeable.
Legs: Neither short nor long, they’re generally very comfy around my upper thighs. The only issue is that, between their only-moderate length and the general looseness of the pair, the legs can ride up on me not uncommonly, bunching up both between my legs and up by my hips. It’s not a huge problem, because the material is loose and lightweight enough that it has to get REALLY bunched up to actually be disruptive – so not a huge knock on the pair overall.
Other: The current title for UN13 is “Classic Cotton Pouch Boxer”, (i.e. the word “Pouch” has been added, to distinguish it from UN16 with the same title as this reviewed pair,) which has longer legs and is advertised as only being available in white and black (though black is sold out completely, and the white is available on sale in just Small). It’s also 80/20 instead of 90/10 in terms of material.
Overall: 3/5 – I personally LOVE this pair for sleeping in and some general wear, but I feel that most guys won’t really go for something that’s a tad loose and mostly cotton, so I can’t really rate it too highly. Still, the pouch is great, so if you want to try the newer UN13 with less cotton and longer legs, I’d say it’d definitely be wroth trying.

Andrew Christian – Almost Naked Sport & Workout Tagless Boxer – Red – Medium

Material: 90% Polyamide, 10% Spandex, a VERY low-friction, lightweight combination! Moderately stretchy.
Aesthetic: Solid color may be simple, but combine that with a slimming look and a slight sheen (as might be expected with athletic material) it certainly looks impressive, and gives the impression of being ready-to-go, especially with the bolder look of the waistband’s colors and text. =-)
Waistband: Feeling-wise, what you expect of most waistbands. Sits between the hips and waist; good size.
Pouch: AC’s “Almost Naked” pouches are known for being roomy and free-form, allowing for a wide range of motion while providing just enough lift underneath to keep your junk away from your legs. The Sport & Workout Tagless Boxer’s pouch is definitely of the Almost Naked design, but it feels subtly modified such that, while is still allowing for “wobble” room, it’s a bit more structurally sound in the sense that it keeps its own shape and holds you in a bit more readily than other Almost Naked pouches. Which, considering it is designed to be activewear, makes sense. The only slight drawback is that the lower part of the pouch and the underside hem don’t feel quite as separative as in other Almost Naked pairs – I get the strong feeling that if you do too many squats or have some other intense activity with the right motions, you might get some slippage problems and send your balls into part of the underwear that they weren’t designed to sit in.
Backside: No news is good news! I can’t say anything here that adds to the general material comments; not a ton of shape.
Legs: I love the length and I love the low-friction material! Not too tight in the thighs or in the end hems, too, which is great. The one little issue I do have, though, is with the inseam: it’s a little short and doesn’t come up to your crotch sufficiently, so you’ll often get the feeling of an awkward pocket of airspace between your legs and will probably get a tiny bit of skin-on-skin rubbing once in a while right at the top of your thighs.
Overall: 4/5 – despite some minor construction issues, this is an immensely comfortable pair that you can wear for almost anything.

Mckillop – Max Bulge Pouch – Orange//Pink – Medium

Material: 92% Modal, 8% Lycra, but it feels very cotton-y and soft.
Aesthetic: Bright, solid-color pouch and a moderate-width black waistband gives these pairs a nice “pop” to them.
Waistband: VERY soft, and nicely elastic – stays on but doesn’t squeeze. Might roll up a little bit, though.
Pouch: The pouch itself has a great shape, which comes up right under your balls (not uncomfortably) and lifts your package slightly up and definitely forward. Center seam on this sling, too, but this one is fairly minor.
Other: There is a small, lightweight built-in C-ring attached to the center of the base of the pouch, and the pair is also sold with a thicker, wider, standalone C-ring as well. Both are elastic. Putting the larger, standalone C-ring on makes it easier to slide your junk through the built-in C-ring, and helps things stay on better. Even then, I have yet to own a pair of sling undies that didn’t come off at least once in all the time I’ve worn said pair – but the “failure rate” for the Mckillop Max Bulge Pouch is pretty low. If you’re not gonna move around a lot, you can probably forego using a separate C-ring, or even forego using either C-ring altogether – but just be conscious of any movement that you do do! Finally, these pairs are only available from Mckillop VIA cheapundies.com; they’re not on Mckillop’s main site, so keep your eyes on the sales vendor.
Overall: 3.5/5 – soft, comfy, and sexy all-around. Gotta be wary of the slight potential for slip-off, though.

N2N Bodywear – VU3 Vintage Slingshot – Denim (Blue) – Medium

Material: 90% Rayon, 10% Spandex, VERY soft, and ever so slightly sheer.
Aesthetic: I personally have a weakness for underwear that reminds me of other articles of clothing, and denim-look is probably at the top of the list.
Waistband: On the thicker side; soft, elastic, and somewhat rounded (instead of being a flat strap with noticeable edges) so that’s nice. Since it’s so thick, the elastic is strong even if the waistband itself was designed to not give you any red marks, but that also means that it’ll always put a bit of a squeeze on you. Can sit on the hips or at the waist depending on the angle of wear.
Pouch: The main part of the pouch is soft, but a tad bit thin, especially compared to the rest of the pair. EXCELLENT shape, though – gives you an amazing silhouette. It does have a center seam, though, which can be uncomfortable for some people. This center seam anchors the pouch to the waistband as the rest of the pouch-waistband connection is looped, bunched fabric that can slide hipward or centerward to give you a slimmer or wider pouch. This aspect is hard to control once you put the pair on, though, and especially after you put on pants.
Other: Like many slignshots, the pair has a built-in C-ring to help keep the pair in place, as there is no support structure that connects to the back half of the waistband at all. The C-ring in this pair, though, is cumbersome to the point of being unwearble, unfortunately. The C-“ring” is two straps of waistband-thick fabric that are held together by two large metal button-clasps. “Vintage” may be correct in terms of the bulkiness and the button-clasps, but it makes the pair difficult to put on (especially since clasps require either very careful fingers and/or judicious manscaping) and somewhat uncomfortable to have that much metal *inside* your package – in my opinion. The C-ring also become very noticeable – both with the button-clasps and with where it comes up under your junk – if you’re moving around a lot. It’s a shame that the C-ring is so bulky, because the pouch itself truly is quite comfortable.
Overall: 1.5/5 – a 4 for appearance and fabric, but a 0 for practicality and 1 for comfort. If you’re used to and like slingshots, I’d say go for it by all means, but for me it’s more hassle than it’s worth.

Aussiebum – WonderYears Brief – Leo (Peach/Orange) – Medium

Material: 65% Polyester, 35% Cotton in a “2×2 ribbed cotton-weave”. Feels both soft and strong, plus is pretty breathable.
Aesthetic: The classic/vintage look is strong with the WonderYears line, both with the ribbed look, the noticeable waistband, and the pop of the white trim/piping. Aside from the trim/piping, the pair is a solid color, all in the pastel spectrum for the WonderYears line, but strong pastels as opposed to pastels that simply look faded.
Waistband: Not bad; comfy enough, but still noticeable with a slight squeeze. Can fold up a little bit too. Sits just above your hips. Like the waistband, most of the underwear is tight (to varying degrees) on you, which combined with the semi-low rise means this pair is in theory great for slimmer-fit pants, though be careful if the pants also have a tight waistband (or an uncomfortable tag) as you might get red marks around your actual waist.
Pouch: The classic look includes a traditional vertical fly, which often means little to no shape to the pouch because a traditional vertical fly requires a double-layer of fabric that involves multiple attachment points. However, the WonderYears line constructs each layer of the fly’s fabric out of multiple panels with a very faint vertical seam that goes right down the middle of the pouch’s front. On the plus side, this means a brief with a vertical fly actually has a very shapely, impressive front pouch (more only for your willie than for your balls, though – there’s not much ball room at the lower end of the pouch). On the flip side, though, this high-depth pouch combined with the strong, relatively inflexible trim and relatively small fly opening renders the fly absolutely useless. It’s nearly impossible to wriggle your fingers into the pouch to fetch your schlong, and the amount of stretching needed to pull the two fly openings past each other essentially cuts your sensitive organ completely off as the rigid structure of the pouch pulls back in a wicked shearing strain. So while the fly looks good and it technically function, you really can’t use it at all.

Backside: Pretty nice, honestly! Definitely soft. Gives a slight feel of thickness that the fabric in much other underwear doesn’t give, so it cushes your seat a little bit. Also, like most of the pair, it fits a bit tightly, which in this area of the pair gives your butt a nice, pert look.

Legs: Ow! The leg openings of this pair are annoyingly, uncomfortably tight! It’s hard to pull the pair on or take it off over my big thighs, and I was reminded of the fact I was wearing this pair throughout the day with the cutting squeeze it gave to the loins. If you have legs that are on the slimmer side compared to the rest of you, this pair might be fine, but it’s definitely not for me.
Overall: 1/5 – despite the nice ass, great shape of the pouch, and attractive overall aesthetic, the leg opening were a slow torture and the completely impractical fly (why include it if you’re going to make it so damn hard to use?) really soured me on this pair. They’re great if you know you’re gonna have your picture taken while showing off your briefs, but aside from that I wouldn’t recommend them at all. Oh, and as a spoiler: I have a “whitey tighty” pair of Aussiebum Classic briefs as well, and were I to do a review of that pair, it would be almost word for word the same as this review.
Great for: NA

Ergowear – Feel Midcut (Original//Suave) – Blue//Mink – M//S

Material: 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex, but boy is this a flexible combination! I’m doing something a little different with this post and combining a review on two different pairs that are the same cut but different materials (and different sizes). Ergowear is a fun Chilean brand that offer normal and “Suave” versions of many of their products, with the former usually feeling more cotton-like and the latter, made with microfiber, feeling much more slick. Both are quite comfy. You WILL pay more for the microfiber, though.
Aesthetic: All products in the Feel original and Feel Suave lines are a simple, solid color – and the colors are all quite nice, none too loud but all interesting. (The Feel Classic and Feel XV lines all have a larger waistband that can be a different color than the main fabric of the pair.)
Waistband: What I like about Feel original and Feel Suave is that there’s basically no waistband at all. You may think that makes it hard for the pairs to stay on you, but the top hem of the pairs all have the smallest hidden elastic waistband you can imagine – and it works so well! Avoiding a large waistband means avoiding any risk of it folding over as you sit during the day. Plus, it gives the pair a great low-rise look overall. (As low-rise as it is, it’s incredibly easy to whip your willie out to go #1, so the lack of a fly is no problem at all.) Pouch: Ergowear’s Feel lines have one of the best-looking and most-comfortable pouches of any underwear I’ve ever worn or seen. The pouch itself is incredibly roomy, but it does still have a nice bit of shaping to it, and it’s attached to the rest of the pair in a way that comes up under your balls to provide a nice and (generally) very comfortable lift. (Every once in a rare while, the under-seam may feel like it’s pulling the underside of your balls up uncomfortably, but that only happens if you’re moving around A LOT or it you wear the pair for too long, as guys sometimes are wont to do.) TBQH, I sometimes have trouble avoiding playing with myself a little bit whenever I wear these pairs, thanks to how great this pouch feels.
Backside: Perfectly taut around your cheeks and upper thighs, holding you in and giving you a great shape without ever feeling like it’s squeezing you at all. Tag is soft and almost never noticeable.
Legs: Like the back panel, they’re skin-tight but never in a way that gives you an uncomfortable squeeze. I love the length on these, as I’ve found that boxer-briefs with shorter legs tend to have the legs ride up on my big thighs – when the legs are long enough, though, the hem of the leg is far enough down that my thigh shape has tapered a bit and the legs thus stay in place. The original line has the very slight problem that wear from rubbing appears somewhat early in the pair’s lifespan, (with friction that you’ll notice from time to time while moving around,) but it’s a minor problem and not something you’ll have to worry about with the lower-friction microfiber of the Suave line.
Other: The sizing here is an interesting note. I have one Small pair (the Suave) and one Medium pair (the original) and I can barely tell the difference. The Suave pair might be a tad bit tighter in the legs, but that’s about it for me. Also, while the Feel Midcut Suave is easily one of my favorite pairs, it unfortunately no longer appears to be in production in that combination. Ergowear still sells non-Suave Feel Midcuts, Suave Midcuts from other lines, and various cuts of Feel Suave underwear, but just not the Feel Suave Midcut itself. Much sadness.
Overall: 4/5 original, 5/5 Suave – the original only gets knocked in comparison to the amazing Suave line, with the rubbing and wear between the legs noticeably in comparison. Get a pair (or three) of Ergowear Feel underwear in your underwear drawer!

Aussiebum – Clan Brief – Argyle (Orange) – Medium

Material: 92% Polyester, 8% Elastane – feels very natural, even if noticeably “smoother” than cotton or other traditional fabrics. Lightweight but feels fairly sturdy.
Aesthetic: I love me a good tartan-based design, and the fact that these are various shades of orange (my favorite color) makes it all the better! Attention-getting, but not too loud or overstated by any means. Definitely a fun – maybe even in a reserved way? – look to be seen in.
Waistband: Soft; not too big or too small, nor too loose or too tight. Sits comfortably between the hips and waist, though closer to the waist (maybe even at the waist for some people based on body type, motions through the day, or just how they like wearing their briefs).
Pouch: A general fly-less pouch; not much structure to it, but just enough shaping to keep your junk slightly forward and out from between your thighs. Unlike the rest of brief, the pouch uses two layers of fabric instead of just one, so it’s definitely soft and supportive, plus the extra layer leaves and extra degree of freedom for your package so it’s not pushed around as much as you move about.
Backside: Holds you well. Has a slight dip built it to help give you some shape and highlight each cheek. Tag is built in to the back of the waistband and is generally quite soft, though very rarely you might notice a corner of the tag.
Legs: This aspect with where this pair has really surprised me. Appended to the otherwise-tiny hem of the leg openings is a stretchy, almost-mesh-y, lightweight strip of fabric that looks almost like a pseudo-waistband, if just not quite as wide or as solid. Since a lot of waistbands have the issue of folding/bunching up if they’re not strong or wide enough, and the waist itself is much less fold-y than the leg-hip meeting, I was worried that these would be rather uncomfortable, and maybe even ride up. Boy was I wrong! They’re super-comfy, and almost help hold everything else in place. They do fold slightly, but it seems they were designed to do so with how soft and lightweight they are – nothing like how a waistband might bunch up uncomfortably. Oh, and the leg openings of the main fabric are sized very well to begin with, so that helps a lot. I’m not sure if the extra band of fabric attached to each leg opening was necessary, but they don’t hurt the pair at all, and add to the fun look of the pair as well.
Overall: 4/5 – a comfy, solid, reliable pair that’s great to have in any underwear collection, and one you’ll probably wear often even if there’s nothing particularly remarkable about them.

Envy Menswear – Microfiber G String – Black – S/M

Material: 90% Nylon, 10% Spandex, and feels so luxurious and sexy! Feels very breathable. Also every so slightly sheer… 😉
Aesthetic: Hard to go wrong with pure black! Simple is sexy. And the slightly sheer look is complemented with a slight sheen, too, so it’s definitely eye-catching.
Waistband: More than just a string but definitely less than a full waistband, it’s surprisingly stretchy and sits on the hips well, neither drooping or cutting in tightly. Considering this is listed as a SMALL/Medium cross-size pair, size was a little worry for me – some pure Mediums from other brands are tight around my waist and cut in a little (or elsewhere, but this is a G-string, so waistband is the only worry) – but this pair was excellent in that regard. I do worry a bit, though, for anyone with a smaller waist than me if this is the smallest option Envy has for this.
Pouch: Very comfy. Roomy enough, no specific support aside from the edges coming nicely close to the skin, even around and beneath the balls, while the pouch lets you hang well. No fly, of course, so it’s not great for going to the bathroom during the day, but that’s a very minor point.
String: Same construction as the waistband, slides between the cheeks very comfortably – almost unnoticeable. If you’re looking to tease your hole, or at least feel like you’ve got something stringing through back there, then this isn’t your pair – but I love the lightness of the feeling. No general cheeks coverage means I wouldn’t recommend as solo loungewear since that’s sitting a bare ass on various surfaces throughout the day, but if you lounge around in sweats/shorts/PJs, this is great to wear underneath.
Backside: Like the string, almost unnoticeable, while still providing a nice bracing between the waist and the string. The tag is almost as big as the back panel itself is, but the tag material is soft enough that you don’t notice it either. Also, looks great from behind. 😉
Legs: Obviously no legs on this pair, but I want to mention that something about the pouch/string architecture prevented any feeling of my big, thick thighs rubbing together uncomfortably. Not sure how you manage that with a G-string or a thong, but it works!
Other: I’m really torn on whether or not I’d recommend this as activewear. On one hand, the general freedom of movement, the low-friction and breathable material, and the generally featureless pouch are good for athletic activity; on the other hand, there’s a general looseness about the pouch, waist, and string that make me feel like it just wouldn’t keep itself or keep you in place very well.
Overall: 5/5 highly recommended! A great pair to wear almost whenever, as it’s both comfy and gives you the confidence of looking sexy, even if you’re the only one that knows you’re wearing it.
