AlphaBox – Everyday Fit Boxers – Red Modal – Medium

095

Material: 95% Modal, 5% Elastane, and oh my god this is sooooo comfy! To be fair, it’s not one of those “can hardly tell it’s even there” underwear, but they’re incredibly soft and lightweight and kinda cooling too, so it’s just an amazing fabric blend.
Aesthetic: There’s nothing super-flashy about this pair, but the material itself has a well-put-together look that makes the pair look classy and intentional even as it’s just one big solid color. The fact that it’s an H-fly on the outside helps with that intentional and somewhat intriguing look, which is added to by the waistband in three ways: a slightly different shade of red, a thin, refined blue stripe rounding the top, and the classy, almost cryptic AlphaBox logo quite off-center on the left hip. Basically, it’s a pair that won’t necessarily earn a second look, but if you give it that second look, you’ll almost immediately think “oh, that’s a nice pair”.
Waistband: Nothing incredibly outstanding about the waistband here, just incredibly comfortable with how soft & stretchy it is.
Pouch: Ah, this pouch! AlphaBox calls it their “3D Pocket”, which is a bit of a misnomer if you compare it to some of the truly 3D shapes on other pairs I’ve reviewed, but that’s just what you see on the outside. The inside of this pouch is absolutely amazing. It’s a pseudo-dual-pouch design supported by what is effectively an internal C-ring (though much looser than one would normally be) combined with the aforementioned H-fly up top, simultaneously allowing for having your junk kept away from your legs (though not necessarily away from each other) and allowing for easy access from up top for you to do your business in the bathroom quite easily. In the above pictures, I’ve let my junk mostly just sit together near the bottom of the pouch, while the two pic below show how it fits when wearing your willie upward, and both arrangements feel completely natural and accommodated. I really don’t think I can find a bad thing to say about this pouch.

Backside: Like the waistband, nothing outstanding here, just a generally high-quality, comfortable constructions and a simple look. It might be a function of how long the legs are, but the pair does a good job of providing a nice visual curve to your backside; for me in particular, the pair actually makes me look like my cheeks have a good shape and tone to them even when I’m a bit more jiggly on my own without any cover.
Legs: I’ve mentioned on the blog before that I love longer legs, and these are no exception! The material is very comfy and stretches over my big thighs quite nicely. The hems here, though, provide the only (and very minor) little drawback to the pair, as there’s a thin line of more solid, less stretchy fabric in the hems here. It’s not something you’ll notice much in general, but I’ll occasionally feel a bit of a slightly-cutting squeeze when I sit down sometimes. The AlphaBox site explicitly mentions that their hems are finished in a way so as to prevent the legs from ever riding up, and to that effect they’ve done a great job, so I definitely appreciate that!
Other: I have yet to find AlphaBox pairs (either the Everyday featured here or the Performance line, one of which is available on my Sales page) on sale anyway, so the price point is a bit steep at the moment at over $30/pair, but DAMN if it isn’t worth it!
Overall: 5/5 – the only reason you wouldn’t like this pair is if you simply don’t like boxer briefs to begin with. And, in which case, I’d say you’re missing out. Get one of these pairs.
Great for: Everyday wear, Loungewear
Good for: Sleepwear

The weather’s getting warmer here in the Northern Hemisphere, so let’s take a look at some swimwear, shall we? =-D

This here is a Nasty Pig “Label Bikini”, which is obviously utterly plastered with the Nasty Pig name all over it, so there’s no confusion as to the brand. That is, unless someone looking at it hasn’t heard of the brand before and just thinks it’s a description of you!

The drawstring, though white, acts as a splash of color for an honestly somewhat chaotic, muddy-ish design. I like the more traditional application of a drawstring, where the string necessarily comes out of the pair on the visible side of the waistband, but there’s a recent trend for brands to make their drawstrings exit on the inside of the waistband, which I personally think is just entirely counterproductive. I guess people think it’s too suggestive to have something flopping around in front of your crotch? …okay, yes that’s entirely understandable if stated only like that. But I don’t think anyone is going to confuse drawstrings for a dick. I think some guys think it’s rude to have *anything* that draws peoples’ attention to your crotch. But yeah, my personal opinion is that it’s impossible to tighten the waistband properly if your hands have to be inside the pair to do the tying!

Ah well. Speaking of waistbands, this pair has theirs entirely hidden in the main material, as it’s supposedly a 1-inch tall waistband, but there’s clearly no distinction between waistband and the rest of the pair here. I kind like that look on swim briefs (e.g. a Speedo-ish look) but it’s not as good on swim squarecuts, trunks, or shorts though.

This eye-catching outfit is entirely from Breedwell, whose Moto Brief I reviewed the other week! I always love a good outfit, and companies that make full setups like this always make me smile. =-)

Starting with the centerpiece is what appears to be a jockstrap of some sort with a pink Breedwell Glow band down the front of the pouch! Now, Breedwell sells “Glow jockstrap” cups that can be attached to any compatible base jockstrap, but if that was what we were seeing here, we wouldn’t see the yellow/peach/pink shiny pouch that we are. As such, I’m not entirely sure what Breedwell underwear or accessory this guy is wearing… I do really love the sheen, though!

Higher on up, we’re seeing what appear to be a yellow or green Glow shoulder harness and a red/orange/yellow Glow armband. The synergy with all of the colors & designs here, along with a generally good match to the guy wearing them, really make an incredibly strong sell for this being a sexy, well-coordinated club outfit! I don’t think there’s any way in the world *I* could pull it off, but damn does it look good!

The only downside to Breedwell’s entire Glow collection is that, by the nature of these LED systems, most everything is somewhat stiff. This means that your sizing has to be exact, and in the case of any Glow jockstrap add-ons, means you’ve got something hard either limiting your pouch and/or in the folds of your body (waist area or the thigh-cheek fold). They’re also damn expensive, and laundering is out of the picture. Really sexy look, but just be ready to take care of these properly and only wear them in specific situations!

Breedwell – Moto Brief – Red – L

078

Material: 76% Nylon, 24% Spandex, and quite comfy! I believe this only describes the pouch material and the top of the back, as most of the pair is actually mesh of some sort. The pouch material is relatively low-friction and hugs your junk quite nicely.
Aesthetic: Loud and somewhat athletic-looking, honestly I think the best description for this look is “DTF”. It’s very in-your-face and show-off-y, with the general impression that this pair is very durable and ready for action of some sort. There’s something about the red/white/black combo that just scream virility, at least to me… (And I have several other reviews in the same vein as that, soooo yeah.) Along with the blocky brand name plastered across the waistband, this pair if bold, brash, and breed-ready.
Waistband: Soft and stretchy enough, but a hair tighter than some other pairs I’ve reviewed recently; nothing uncomfortable by any means, just enough that I notice the difference with the elastic. It’s also a hair taller than some of the other waistbands I’ve seen recently, which I like; it’s built to stay on and in place through whatever you do. There is a tag in the back of the waistband, but it’s printed on and you won’t notice it.
Pouch: As mentioned with the material above, the pouch hugs your junk very nicely! It’s not really a shaped pouch at all, but between its stretchiness and how well is wraps around you, you’re almost always going to get a good bulge from it. It’s not overly tight in any way, and it does a good job of keeping your junk off of your thighs. Also, the U-Fly here is great! There’s enough overlap in the two panels of fabric that you’re not just going to slip out easily, but the width of the opening and the stretch of the hems makes it a breeze to whip your willie out for going to the bathroom (or other uses).
Backside: Now this is interesting! Not many briefs can do a “look at me” ass regardless of how much cake you have like this one can! Not only is the two-panel design (with a hint of the hip strap panels showing too) already an eye-catching design choice, the colors then accentuate the paneling, and finally the entire lower panel is just mesh! Now, I’ve mentioned in the past the mesh can be hit or miss because a bad mesh can make it feel like your skin is “bubbling” through the mesh holes, but this pair suffers no such ill – the mesh is fantastic. It certainly makes the pair quite breathable! The mesh also leads to the appearance of a dark strap down your cheek – obviously it’s just a lighting thing, but I think it’s a fun, almost-naughty look.
Legs: Nothing of note for the leg openings here! Just a generally nice fit.
Other: While there is a Moto Jock on the Breedwell website, I got this Moto brief through CheapUndies, which seems to be the only place to get them at the moment. (Maybe it’s a similar agreement to the McKillop pouch?)
Overall: 5/5 – this pair is comfy, very functional, and just plain fun. Definitely recommend it, especially if you’re more of the wild type!
Great for: Activewear, Sexy wear, Sex wear
Good for: Everyday wear

In a bit of a theme for the rest of my posts this week, I’ll be showing off brands I’ve never really seen (or at least never really reviewed) before. First off, Baldrick Benjamin! Which seems like a very small-scale operation – almost like a one-man show, especially since the website doesn’t seem formatted incredibly well.

Anyway, the pair here shows of a very nice pouch, so it seems like a nicely supportive pair. It could be the lighting as well, but the pictures of the Magnificence Trunk on the site also seem to be universally shaped (and filled). The material looks stretchy and slick, which makes sense since it’s listed as 96% Modal and 4% Spandex. Might be worth looking in to.

Ginch Gonch – Long Brief//Sport Brief – “El Toro” – M//S

062

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, and marketed as the “four-way stretch” that has popped up occasionally in my reviews. I still don’t know what the definition is, especially since I’ve seen variable material blends for it… Anyway, the material on this pair isn’t super-thick but does have a feeling of weight to it – it’s not a fabric you’re gonna wear through easily.
Aesthetic: Full disclaimer, I’m about ready to gush over this pair! The classic white combined with black piping gives a very bold base look, and that’s mirrored with a playful font on the waistband. What really sells this pair’s look, though, is the all-around (but not overdone) “Texas” feel: some nice stars on the waistband, a sexy stylized bull right in front (so it’s nice and puffed out with your bulge), and a red cowboy-inspiried border from one hip all the way around back to the other hip. Adding the red to the bold black & white color scheme adds a feeling of swagger and power, and both bulls (there’s another one around back too) fit so well with the overall masculine feel of this pair. (Not to say this general design doesn’t look damn sexy on women too – Ginch Gonch makes underwear for everyone – the same bold colors and confidence work just as well for the ladies!) I just love the overall attitude this pair exudes. Giddyup!
Other: The one big downside to the above paragraph about the aesthetics is that both the bull in front and the red border design is that they do stretch/fade over time as the vertical white threads of the underlying fabric do start showing through after enough washes. If you’re a big guy, you might see that stretch-whitening in the red border just by wearing the pair.
Waistband: Very typical, about what you’d expect for a waistband. Simple, fairly soft, and nicely stretchy at least. Sits mostly at the waist, though the front center does come down a little bit (at least on me). One thing that is advertised about this waistband is its “anti muffin-top”, to which I assume means they’ve tried to design it so that it prevents a bit of that overhang you can get from your belly, sides, or back. Of course it’ll depend on your body type, and I still have a bit of donuting with my side fat, but overall I think it does an okay job of what’s advertised. The tag in back is its own kind of fabric, so it’s soft and relatively unnoticeable even if it’s big.
Pouch: Nothing super-well shaped, but between a smart construction and (I’m guessing) the four-way stretch fabric, you can still end up showing off a lot even though the front is ostensibly rather flat. Part of that “flatness” comes from the fact that it’s got a traditional vertical fly, and the extra layer of fabric that necessitates almost always means a flatter front. (We’ve seen Aussiebum and Andrew Christian experiment before with a highly-shaped vertical-fly pouch before, and the shaping almost always renders the fly useless.) Here though, that smart design and four-way stretch come into play yet again, as the flies on these pairs are incredibly easy to use, which is always worth some points in my book. (To the point where, like the CK briefs and Piado briefs, you can pull everything through the fly without it being uncomfortable!) The pouch is also one of the two places I can tell the difference between the two cuts, and it fits a pattern I’ve noticed. The pattern is that, if a pair of underwear has a traditional vertical fly, then the lower parts of the pouch’s edges give better support the shorter the pair’s legs are. I’m not sure exactly why, but the longer a pair’s legs are, the worse job the pair usually does at coming up to where the inner thighs meet the crotch. These Ginch Gonch pairs are a great comparison case, (in fact Ginch Gonch’s entire line is, as I also have one of their regular briefs,) as the Long Brief usually feels like there’s just a little bit of gap on either side of your balls, which isn’t really there in the Sort Brief.
Backside: Does a fairly good job of holding you and and making you look a bit tighter in the rump than you might actually be. X-D

Legs: The body of the legs is great in both pairs, as are the hems themselves – always a good, healthy amount of stretch and grip in both. The Sport Brief’s legs have a 1″ or 2″ inseam, (darn “four-way stretch” makes it hard to say for sure,) while the Long Briefs have a 5″ or 6″ inseam. And, fitting with another pattern I’ve noticed that depends on leg length, the shorter legs on the Sport Brief do occasionally begin to roll up on my big thighs depending on my positions and motions through any given time; the longer legs on the Long Brief generally stay in place and avoid the rolling.
Other: Interestingly, I can’t really tell any difference between the sizes, at least aside from the obvious case with the leg length!
Overall: 4/5 – this is just such a fun pair – and it’s really comfy too! It’s not “lightweight”, but if you don’t mind medium-weight fabric, definitely get this pair. Or any Ginch Gonch pair! I have four total pairs from Ginch Gonch, and they all have the same general construction, so the only differences are what cut you like and what visual design appeals to you. (I may show the other two in a brand review post… TBD)
Great for: Everyday wear, Sexy wear
Good for: Loungewear

C-in2 is a great brand, and I do really like the shape of the pouch here as well as liking how the fabric looks in general because it looks nice a soft, probably cotton-y. I’m wondering if this is an older pair, though, since the legs on this boxer trunk are really baggy… That, or the guy just bought the wrong size, but I kinda doubt that since even bigger-sized things usually still have nicely elastic legs, and this pair just seems kinda gone. X-D

Don’t wear bunchy legs, boys. It’s not comfortable under your pants and it’s a bit distracting not under your pants. ;-D

Nasty Pig – Champ Brief – Blue – Medium

044

image

Material: 93% Modal, 7% Spandex, soft enough while also being nice and smooth – gives a very generic but good feeling, IMO.
Aesthetic: Sporty! I think the stripe pattern on the waistband has a specific name among design people, which I totally don’t know off the top of my head, but it definitely evokes the sports team looks, along with the big logo right in the middle. The brief itself is very simply designed with nice, strong vertical lines.
Waistband: Overall, very comfy typical waistband that sits below the waist.
Pouch: Like with the Venom Brief, there are actually two layers of fabric in the pouch area itself, presumably to add a little extra cush (and remove a little bit of friction) around your junk. In fact, it’s almost the exact same as the Venom pouch except the bordering seams are ever so slightly a little bit more angled on the Venom pair. No reason to fix what isn’t broken!
Backside: Also like the venom pair, it’s a simple backside that makes sure to cover your entire ass very nicely. =-)
Legs: …yeah, read the Venom review for this too. X-D
Overall: 4.5/5 – The only reason I don’t give this the full 5/5 like the Venom brief is because it doesn’t look as cool as the Venom brief does.
Great for: Everyday wear, Sex wear(?)
Good for: Activewear, Loungewear, Sleepwear, Sexy wear(?)

Justin Case – Zebra Brief – Zebra print – Medium

042

Material: 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex, and it definitely feels synthetic. Even though the sizing of the pair is appropriate, the pair always feel just a little tight/gripping, and I’m guessing that’s from the fabric. It’s not a pair that makes you feel like you’re not wearing underwear at all – it’s definitely there, especially around the edges. It’s slightly sheer, which is kinda fun, and the smooth, low-friction feel is nice too.
Aesthetic: Zebra print is always fun! It’s broken up a little by the extra fabric for the pouch, but it still works well. The waistband is bold without being to obtrusive.
Waistband: Confortably elastic, though the material isn’t quite as soft as it maybe could be. It’s listed as 32-34 but still feels a little tighter than that while slipping it on.

Pouch: There’s an extra layer of fabric here, I assume to make it a bit softer and to protect your junk from whatever pants you’re wearing, but it doesn’t feel anything special with the extra layer. Not a lot of shape to this pouch, but at least it’s not constricting in any way, and still holds your junk up nicely enough.
Backside: Not much to say here… Just another backside, mostly! As mentioned before, you can definitely feel that the fabric is there.
Legs: The leg openings on the pair as ever so slightly on the tighter side, mostly around the hips and in front of the thighs (thankfully not in the crotch itself). The tightness isn’t really that uncomfortable, but the hems do leave marks on my legs (which is partially on me with my big thighs).
Overall: 2.5/5 – nothing particularly bad about the pair, but nothing particularly good either. If you want that “animal” look in the bedroom, absolutely go for it!
Great for: Sexy wear
Good for: Activewear, Everyday wear

I love the look of these Mandate jockstraps! The waistband, particularly from what you can see around the back, looks really comfy. The cage-like design of the pouch is really eye-catching – and of course the color combinations help in that sense, too!

Speaking of color combinations, though – the real reason I want to reblog this (and the next reblog too) is that this really highlight another thing that turns me on – match underwear+other clothes! Socks, shoes, t-shirt, hoodie… I dunno, the thought of specifically coordinating your underwear with the intent of showing off said coordination just seems really appealing to me.

Here, we see NastyPig Mandate socks specifically designed to match. (NP also offers Mandate Briefs if the jockstrap is not your thing.) Considering that socks are often one of the last things to come off, very similar to undies in that sense, it’s a great look to “complete”.  And NP certainly seems to like their socks! I also own black+white NP brief and a blue NP jockstrap in my collection as well, with NP socks to go with each. I guess there’s just a sort of a get-down-to-”business” look when you pair undies with matching socks, (i.e. not bothering to completely take everything off,) and NP is certainly made for guys that like to get down to business!
