Pikante – Battle Submarine Thong – Black – M

048

Material: 88% Nylon, 12% Spandex, overall fairly comfy! Not super-soft or super-smooth, but definitely nicely functional.
Aesthetic: Well, it’s Pikante… Having sailor faces all over the pouch is certainly a fun take! X-D The small horizontal mesh panel also adds to Pikante’s risque M.O.
Waistband: The waistband itself it pretty good, material-wise, though this thong suffers from a symptom I’ve seen among many more “stylish” underwear pairs in that the stitching that connects the waistband to the rest of the pair causes that lowest sliver of the waistband to be much less elastic than the rest of the waistband overall. This makes it a bit of a pain to pull on or off, with the one thin but strong section of the pair that is much less forgiving than the material around it. Always makes you worry about tearing something important. And although it’s not shown in the pictures above, that lowest edge of the waistband has a tendency to roll up over the rest of the waistband above each hip.
Pouch: Very nice shape, especially the lower part of the pouch! That is, it forms a really nice little pocket for your balls; doesn’t “lift” them a lot, but keeps them very well separate from your legs. The pouch overall also wiggles nicely. The pouch fabric also has lines of “breathing holes” throughout it, so that in theory makes the pair very comfy to wear long-term. And of course, the peekaboo mesh panel across the top is a sexy little touch; conveniently, you don’t really notice the difference in fabric at all while wearing the thong. The only downside is that the pouch isn’t incredibly wide against your body, and might but in a little bit with long-term wear; that latter fact might be a function of the theme I’ve noticed with Pikante often being under-sized.
Backside/String: This thong has one of the widest “straps” I’ve ever seen! You might think that means it’s uncomfortable between the cheeks, but the fabric is thin and comfy enough that it simply folds up, and you don’t really notice it! The tag in back is moderately large and moderately stiff, but thankfully is attached in a place and way that you don’t really notice it either (i.e. the edges aren’t annoying at all.)
Other: This is the first Pikante pair I’ve ever bought where the sizing is moderately correct versus what I expect. X-D I may get to reviewing some of old purchase attempts, but they’ve almost always run too small for me, as alluded to earlier.
Overall: 2/5 – I hesitate to call this a “bad” pair, so I feel a bit bad about giving it just a 2, but the waistband issue is just a bit much for me to overlook. Were it not for that, this could be a 3.5/5. Still a very fun pair, and if you like thongs and can get the sizing correct, definitely worth wearing!
Great for: Sexy wear
Good for: Everyday wear

Another new order!

Forgot to mention, I made another CheapUndies order the other week, too!

Some sizing experimentation going on (or, simply because I wanted that cut of briefs but they were out of Mediums). X-D Got this order in the other day, so will be able to try them out fairly soon.

My other new order (from Oh My Underwear) is coming in – from China, apparently – piece by piece, so it’ll be a while before I can try those pairs on. I only have one of them so far.

Pikante – 8011 Jupiter Thong – Blue – Medium

Material: 93% Polyester, 7% Spandex; it’s very shiny! However, it’s also a high-maintenance fabric – you’re asked very noticeably to hand-wash the pair and hang dry. Finally, it’s odd in the sense that the material tends to stick to itself – the pair was packaged with paper to keep it mostly separated while folded, but I still had to pull it apart.
Aesthetic: HHOOOO BOY. X-D Well, most of what I’ll say has to do with the pouch/crotch area, but what I can definitely say here is SHINY. The bright color also contrasts impressively with the black waistband, giving the pair a fun/loud look just from the colors and material used.
Waistband: Relatively normal! Sits low in official images, but I wear it higher.
Pouch: Instead of having an actual front, the Jupiter thong has an open front and three elastic bands with small slide fasteners to make little loops at the end of each strap, and the middle strap longer than the two that slightly favor either side. It took me a while looking online for a non-blurred photo of someone else wearing a Jupiter thong to figure out exactly how the three bands were to be worn, so it’s not entirely straightforward, but it works. The two shorter straps together are worn like a thick C-ring at the base of the shaft, while the longer strap functions like a “strut” as it’s worn closer to the head, holding your willie out forward. Finally, the open hole of the crotch comes up under your scrotum fairly well, which combined with the harness for your junk really minimizes and skin-on-skin contact.
Backside/String: Almost an afterthought after the involved front, but the thong strap itself is a good size, if a bit noticeable thanks to the material itself. The back panel is somewhat on the larger side, but still slots in between your cheeks fairly well. Tag is sizeble and somewhat stiff, though with everything else going on, it doesn’t feel incredibly out of place.
Overall: 1.5/5 – this almost shouldn’t be considered underwear since you won’t wear this under pants, you won’t wear it to sleep, you won’t wear it just lounging around, and you (probably) can’t wear this to fuck either. And you can’t easily throw it in the wash, on top of everything else. It’s basically just a really sexy, bondage-ish costume masquerading as a thong. For looking damn sexy, I’d say it gets a 5/5, but you should only buy this if you’re going to a special event where you know you’re gonna show off and will have an opportunity to change in to this.
