Modus Vivendi – Flag Jockstrap – Blue – L

066

Material: 95% Viscose, 5% Elastane, and very velvet-y! The pouch, that is. And it’s reeeaaally soft and plush. The straps are more your typical elastic, and between them you’ve got some vinyl siding with the metallic studs punched in.
Aesthetic: I’ve seen this pair described as “rock star” before, and IDK? The velvety sheen on the pouch, plus the jet black middle strap, is certainly distinctive at least. The color scheme overall is bright and bold while still remaining simple – only one color aside from black or white, and it’s not an outlandish shade either. Same for that little rubber brand tag up front, the shiny vinyl bands on the side of the pouch, and the metal studs holding the straps on (they do go completely through the vinyl and touch the skin).
Waistband: No real waistband here – what you’d call the waistband is just one of the three straps that goes around the back. It feels about like what you’d expect the normal-strap material would feel if it was around your waist instead of under/across your cheeks. I think the intent is for the black strap to be a second half of the waistband, but I’m considering it as its own strap.
Pouch: The pouch isn’t incredibly shaped, but it’s so, so soft! The velvety feel is more on the outside that on the insde, but it’s still incredibly comfortable. The fabric is somewhat on the medium-thick side, which probably is why it feels so cushion-y.
Backside/Straps: As mentioned above, theleg/cheek straps are fairly expected for “comfort” jockstraps. Small and soft as they are, the leg straps do fold over themselves somewhat, at least with the noticeable fold I have between my glutes and hammies, but they’re soft enough that this folding doesn’t cause any problems. What’s unique about this pair, obviously, is the extra horizontal strap that goes between the leg straps and the “waistband”. I’m not entirely sure how it’s intended to be worn – higher-up (almost like a shadow waistband) to leave the ass exposed, or directly across the middle of your cheeks to draw the eye there. The only promotional images I’ve been able to find suggest the former, but the friend who gifted me this pair (and took these pictures) thought the latter looked better, and I think I enjoy both alignments. You could probably even wear them low if you want to! I’m not sure what kind of look or feel that would accomplish though.

Other: I don’t know how long ago my friend bought this pair, but I was quite lucky to find that link above; these don’t seem to be available at all any more. Which is a shame, because these certainly are fun! (Shout out to @davin-w on tumblr, said friend, who I’ve also mentioned in my old MAL2018 posts.)
Overall: 4.5/5 – although somewhat impractical, they are honestly rather comfy, so the sexy look is just a bonus in that sense. I’m honestly almost tempted to do a 5/5, but I haven’t tried wearing this pair for an extended period of time yet to see how it deals with a full day of movement.
Great for: Sexy wear
Good for: Loungewear(?), Sex wear(?), Everyday wear(??)

If it’s hard to see, both the waistband of the “shorts” here and the crosslink of the harness have the same logo – that of Sparta’s Harness, a brand originally from Italy – so it makes sense that this outfit looks like quite a complete package!

I’ve never worn or wanted to wear a harness like this one for two reasons: one, I’m not the wild-and-rough type, and two, I have low-level metal allergies, so I don’t wear jewelry. So, in a similar vein, I won’t wear any sort of traditional leather gear since that stuff include those buttons/clasps and the rings themselves as well, none of which I want on my skin.

That all said, I totally recognize how attractive they are, and enjoy seeing them on other guys – particularly guys that have at least a little bit of beef to show off! The fact that it matches nicely with these “shorts” as well is definitely a plus. Same red, and the shorts have that same show-off-y, somewhat-rough look to them.

I keep saying “shorts” in quotation marks because these are a pair of shorts that certainly don’t seem like underwear in the sense they’re not designed to be worn under anything, but they’re not normal wear-out-in-public shorts either, not only because they’re so incredibly skin-tight and low-riding and featuring awkward/atypical extra bands, but also there’s the very obvious bulge. I mean, I approve, especially with the cool angled look the “waistband” has (being multiple pieces) – but are they really “shorts”? X-D I don’t really care about the answer to that – they’re really hot to look at and are probably quite sensual to the touch. I would want to wear these to a club.

Basic Emporio Armani brief here! Very low-rise, which works well for the guy here in showing off his v-lines. The striping is also a nice look, but the pouch seems a little small. (Granted, the low-rise aspect makes everything about the pair look a little on the small side.) I can’t tell if these are blue or black with the lighting here…

I think this is the first Modus Vivendi swimwear that I’ve looked at? Anyway, strong blue here with white piping for a nice bold look – and the peekaboo hip opening is quite fun too! The pouch also looks nice… Modus Vivendi always is stylish, and this swim brief is no exception. I’d like to maybe get a pair like this myself, but I think the waist is too low for me to pull off (and I’d worry about flabbiness through the peekaboo!)

Random bedtime outfit

Me, modeling red with hints of blue!

One thing I’ve added to my blog since moving here to WordPress is a new tag for “outfits”. As I’ve mentioned before, I love pairing underwear with other items of clothing; I noticed while fixing categories and links and such that I talked about outfit fun enough to think it deserves an official tag.

Anyway, here I am with an Andrew Christian Almost Naked trunk and a Modus Vivendi talk top, ready to head to bed tonight. Felt sexy enough to consider sharing my sleepy style with y’all. 🙂

Emporio Armani is one of those brands you hear about in mainstream parlance a bit more often, usually because they do a lot more than just underwear. Here, though, you can see they do underwear very well! The solid color is executed well here, looking much more bold than bland, and it does a good job of helping to show off the front pouch as well, which looks like it has a great shape (and is not something you can tell just looking at Armani’s website, since they just show the pairs laid flat instead of modeled).

Also, the brief is paired here with this hoodie-vest-thing, and I’ve always had a weak spot for pairing underwear with other articles of clothing…. It’s also executed very nicely here! ^//^

Apparently these are Versace briefs, so that’s an interesting brand to look over! I haven’t tried any myself yet, and this is the first time I’m looking at a pair.

This pair of whitey-tighties seem to be going in a similar direction to what Calvin Klein does with many of their whitey-tighties: good though maybe not full coverage, no fly, and some other splash or accent to not make it too bland.

I’m not sure Versace did enough here to really pique my interest. The waistband is certainly cool-looking, but the fabric seems both on the thicker side and on the tighter side, which in combination isn’t something I’d particularly look forward to. I’m sure the pair is probably comfier than it looks, but it looks a little constrictive. Also, just from how the hip bands go over the hips, I’m betting it’s not a full-coverage ass.
