Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, but while this blend is common, they way it’s been done here is definitely not. The fabric here feels somewhat synthetic despite being mostly cotton, and feels oddly slick and tight, and also incredibly thin. In fact, everything about these pairs just feels a bit tight, even with the Large, which is a bit odd and a tad restrictive to me.
Aesthetic: Ho boy, these briefs are the embodiment of “loud and proud”! While I’ve talked multiple times about the red-white-black color combination before, it’s possible to get similar effects with any strong, saturated color in place of the red, and that’s exactly what’s happened here. The racing stripes going vertically down the front absolutely draw your eye to the curve of the pouch – these pairs are entirely about having that “in your face” look, it absolutely demands to be noticed.
Waistband: Very nicely stretchy though maybe a tad bit sturdier than normal, and a bit taller than some other waistbands, but otherwise pretty typical. What’s not typical here is the fact that the tags are actually affixed to the left hip instead of the small of the back – and it absolutely works.

Pouch: The pouch has a relatively nice shape to it, though nothing incredibly promoting. As with the fabric in general, the pouch does feel a bit on the tight side even with the larger pair, which has its pros and cons. On one hand, having the pair stretch tightly over your junk can make your bulge look more impressive, and having everything strapped down can be great for athletic activity too; on the other hand, being constantly squeezed can also just be generally uncomfortable. Still, almost always looks great, no matter how you try positioning your junk. The construction of the pair makes it such that wearing your willie up or willie down doesn’t actually seem to have much effect on the presentation of your bulge when looking at it from the front, which is an interesting consequence of the fabric pattern and stitching. (The positioning is clearer when viewed from the side, of course.)

Backside: Plainest part of the pairs, but the strong color and big brand print across the waistband make it look nice enough. Not quite full coverage, and the tightness of the pair lets the lower part of your cheeks separate a bit as the fabric comes up between them – nowhere near the point of a wedgie, of course; only just enough to have that visual representation.
Legs: As with much of the pair, the leg openings feel a bit tight and restrictive, though even with the Medium for me, it’s not to the extent of being deal-breaking by any means – it’s just a bit tight, and probably not something you’d want to wear for an extended amount of time.
Overall: 3/5 – I’d say these are an absolute 5/5 for looks, but only a passable 25 for comfort. Excellent pairs to wear to a club or maybe to the gym, but probably not something I’d recommend wearing for a full day unless you definitely like having that tighter feel for your undies.

Under Pockets – boxer briefs – black – Large

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, which is something we’ve seen before often, and for good reason – usually comes across as a lightweight, soft, stretchy bland. The material for this particular pair doesn’t feel quite as breathable as some other pairs, but that’s maybe splitting hairs, it’s still pretty nice.
Aesthetic: Pretty utilitarian with the all-black look and the plain white statement of the brand name along the waistband. The white pocket openings fit into that utilitarian aesthetic as well with the squared-off appearance.
Waistband: Very nicely stretchy, and a bit taller than some other waistbands, but otherwise pretty typical.
Pouch: Under Pockets relies on a very traditional boxer design with the vertical fly and not a ton of shape. However, there is a bit of a cupped shape at the bottom of the fly structure, so that’s kinda nice. As with a lot of traditional boxer briefs, though, the lower “corners” of the pouch area often do not come up against the torso, especially after general movement, so you may often get a bit of an open, unsupported feeling from this pair.
Backside: Pretty plain, as it’s also all black, which has the added effect that any shaping the backside does do would be lost visually. Like many mass-produced boxer briefs, though, there isn’t much shaping going on back here anyway. There is, of course, a little bit of visual intrigue with the white pocket openings providing a little bit of visual punch near your hips, so that’s nice I guess.
Legs: Okay, love these legs. =-)
Other: The major gimmick of this brand is, of course, the built-in pockets on the sides of the underwear. I won’t talk about whether this is a practical, useful idea or not, but what I will say is that these pockets have been executed wonderfully. They’re not bulky in any way, and yet are fairly sizeable, and the extra fabric is still nicely lightweight and soft. The pockets are worked into the pair by having vertical panels of fabric on each side of the pair, and the extra seams are entirely unnoticeable. Honestly, I’d like to see more brands realize that features on the sides of a pair can offer design flexibility that features in front or in back may not be as good for.
Overall: 3.5/5 – Honestly, a pretty solid pair overall, pockets or not! The potential lack of support between the legs is the only minor issue, as that can be largely avoided if you’re not moving around much (or if you’re moving around quite a lot and the ease of motion is a good thing).

Good Devil – GD1018 C-String – White Leopard – One Size

Material: 100% Polyester, which doesn’t necessarily sound great as it’s all synthetic, but it’s honestly done quite well! Not listed here is the fact that a huge component of this underwear is a set of stiff wires that provide the main support (for the pair, not for your junk).
Aesthetic: Skimpy and frisky! The fact that it’s just a pouch means you’re revealing about as much skin as possible, and the white leopard print adds to the “wild side” look all the more. Then, if you do look around back, you can usually see the “string” wire peeking out from the top of your cheeks, which further compounds the feeling of naughty playfulness.
Pouch: I’ll talk just about the pouch itself here, and the wire “string” support in the next section. The pouch here is cool to the touch, (which is almost always very nice,) lightweight, and quite breathable for being 100% synthetic. It also has a great shape to it, though it does include a little bit too much space on the lower end of the pouch before it narrows between your legs. (You can see the looseness of the lower pouch in the second photo above.) This isn’t too much of an issue, and might be for the better for breathability’s sake, but it’s a bit odd. Overall, though, very nice pouch.
String: With no waistband and no straps, all pouch underwear needs some way of actually staying on your person. Usually this is accomplished by having the ring of the main opening either have a drawstring to narrow it around the base of your junk or snap in place there. Instead, Good Devil here has designed an entirely rigid framework that covers your crotch with a single thin wire slipping between your thighs and butt cheeks in such a way that the front and back of the wires – in theory – grip your torso from both sides to stay in place. In practice, this works well enough, and is usually aided by the fact that the “string” wire in back also is simply held in place by being wedged between your cheeks – basically, a very solid G-string. (And yes, the stiff wire is covered in fabric all the way around so it’s relatively comfortable.) Ideally, the lowest part of the wire would stay right up against the underside of your torso, but I’ve found that it tends to slide down half an inch or so, giving a slightly open feeling between your legs; part of this may be due to the fact that the tapering from the pouch loop to the single wire happens somewhat slowly, pushing back against your thighs a little bit right where they’re trying to meet your crotch. This can be a tad uncomfortable since you can’t fully bring your thighs together without the wire digging in a little. Also, depending on your rear, the tip of the “string” wire may stick up a bit too much, which can interfere with your pants and/or your seat back if you’re sitting down. Still, I think this is a very fun design, and one I’ve worn several times on days I just feel like exciting myself a little bit.
Overall: 3/5 – I think this is a very situational pair, and I’m sure there will probably be a number of guys who just don’t like the idea of stiff underwear (or of something, stiff or not, going between their cheeks). This pair isn’t for those guys, obviously, but I think it’d be fun for people to try out if they can get one.

Mossimo – low-rise boxer brief – Red – Small

Yes, it’s my 100th review! For this special occasion, I’m taking it all the way back to the very first “stylish” pair I bought for myself back in early grad school…

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, moderately soft and very stretchy! The fabric has a bit of a sheet-y nature that makes it feel like there’s definitely some synthetic fabric in there, so it doesn’t pull off the cotton-y feel that many other pairs with similar blends do, but it’s still very nice. It’s certainly lightweight!
Aesthetic: Simple, but the bright white piping framing the bold main fabric provides a great visual pop that helped lead me to buying a full rainbow of this line back when I first started getting “into” underwear; this red pair was actually my very first “nice” underwear purchase.
Waistband: Pretty typical as waistbands go, especially for a big-box-store, and thankfully it’s not too stiff. The pure, bright white is a nice stylish choice to not make it look boring, and it stays on at that low-rise position fairly well.
Pouch: Being a big-box option, these briefs sport a fairly flat front; that said, the way the front panels of the fly are constructed combined with the stretchy nature of the fabric means that the front panels do a good job of conforming to your junk, giving a nice cupping feeling with a little bit of shape to the “pouch” even if it’s not obviously built-in. And the fly! It’s been a while since I reviewed a pair with a fly, (#86 I think,) especially a traditional vertical fly like this pair sports (#79, which was before a break or two). The fly here is very well-done, incredibly easy to use with just one hand, and as I’ve demonstrated on a few other briefs in the past, it even allows you to pull 100% of your junk through without any uncomfortable tightness from below or side-to-side! This is how you pull off traditional vertical flies, everyone.

Backside: Just a plain, solid color, so not much to look at, though the bright white waistband helps in that sense. The fabric is also tight enough that the back doesn’t look like an unflattering expanse, and the little arch between the legs also provides a bit of nice visual structure.
Legs: Fairly good length, but IMO could be a bit longer to cover my big thighs. The hems are quite comfortable! Very little difference between them and the rest of the legs. They’ll roll up a little bit over time – again, could be longer, would fix that aspect – but it’s a fairly small problem with this pair.
Other: Sadly, Mossimo’s agreement to sell with Target died a while ago, and I don’t think it’s easy to get these pairs any more. That’s a shame since this pair (this entire line, actually) holds a special place in my heart as what started my collection. And, honestly, for being a big-box-ish line, these have held up amazingly well over the years! (Moreso than the original Andrew Christian pair I ever ordered.)
Overall: 3.5/5 – a very solid generic pair to have in your collection! Especially if you want your “everyday” selection to have that nice pop of color.

Xtremen – Classic Stripes Boxer Brief – White Stripes – Medium

Material: 80% Nylon, 10% Polyester, 10% Spandex, which definitely feels synthetic and on the thick side, but is surprisingly soft and breathable despite it. It’s not weightless by any means, but I honestly kinda like it – which is a bit of a surprise to myself, as I had originally slated this pair for my Sales page before double-checking every pair I thought to sell and deciding I actually liked this one!
Aesthetic: Racing stripes are always fun. X-D It’s an interesting choice on Xtremen’s part to make the stripes go in different directions on each panel of the fabric, but I think it works out amazingly well! The stripes on the pouch really highlight the pouch’s contouring, especially if the pouch is being well-filled, and the horizontal stripes on the inner thighs draw your attention there just by being perpendicular, and it’s always fun looking right between the legs.
Waistband: Fairly typical as far as waistbands go I guess! Both soft enough and sturdy enough without going too far in either direction.
Pouch: Really nice shape! Not sure what else to say – neither “out there” or lackluster, just a very nice pouch. =-)
Backside: The Y-arrangement of the seams here makes the backside look a little bit messy because of just how obviously the stripes do not line up (and also because the stripes here are no longer vertical) but I still think it looks pretty fun overall. The material and cut do a good job of holding you in with a sleeker overall profile and such, with just a bit of cheek emphasis on the lower middle panel.
Legs: I like the length here for the most part. I will say that, like with the backside, the material and the cut work together to keep you tightened in, so the legs provide a sort of constant gentle squeeze, but it’s not focused on the hems so it’s honestly quite comfortable. The only problem is that these legs will roll up over time, but it takes a while, so that’s not too bad.
Overall: 3.5/5 – If you like your underwear feeling on the snug side, this is an amazing pair, with both the fabric and the overall look being pretty good just in general so it can be fun for just about everyone.

Box Menswear – F**k You Boxer Briefs – print – Medium

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane, and definitely comfortable! The material stretches nicely, and largely just molds itself to your shape. You can feel the fabric there, but it’s not constraining in any way, and has just a hint of cool feeling to it.
Aesthetic: Not sure exactly how to put into words the aesthetic here, as this pair looks somewhat newspaper-ish from a distance, with the brand text almost looking like a headline along the waistband. Between the print, you can also make out the hems fairly clearly, which is a little visually distracting, and not in a good way. Still, you get to read the “F**k You” text if you take a closer look, and getting to take a closer look at a pair of underwear in wear is always nice! (The print is not censored like I’m doing here.)
Waistband: A bit taller than most waistbands, consistent in that sense with the waistband on the Box briefs. It’s a little bit of a softer construction, though, and a bit more plain on the inside too. Generally wears at or slightly below your waist.
Pouch: As with many boxer-briefs, the pouch is stretched out and spacier near the bottom where it connects to the legs than the pouch on comparable briefs are. Interestingly, though, I like this pouch better because the fabric and stretch and mold around your junk better than the brief I previously reviewed. In other words,the pouch here can still provide support around the lower areas quite well, and more so based on conforming to your junk rather than conforming your junk to it.
Backside: The backside here does give your cheeks some good definition on the underside, and the print is nice to look at, but I would say here that the pair doesn’t do an A+ job of giving your cheeks a good overall shape – IMO, my rump definitely looks bigger in the somewhat-flabby way in this pair. That said, it still feels very good to wear!
Legs: I like the length on these, and they’re generally pretty comfortable, including well-made hems at the end of each legs. The comfort of those hems has maybe allowed them to more-easily roll up, which they will do a fair amount, as shown below.
Other: Yes, they do have a pair that says “F**k Me” on it too. That one is typically sold out, while this one is typically not.
Overall: 3.5/5 – While I’m only giving these a fairly average rating, largely based on the less-flattering backside and rolling-up leg hems, I still quite like how these feel to wear. Definitely a nice pair to wear, and if you can get the “F**k Me” instead of the “F**k You” pair, all the more fun!

Good Devil – GDJ017 Pecker Brief – Red – Medium

Material: 86% Polyamide, 14% Spandex, which may have a somewhat synthetic feel but is very soft and stretchy, with a semi-slick, veneer-like quality to it as well. It feels a little thick from the synthetic build, so isn’t very breathable, but holy hell is it stretchy!
Aesthetic: This brief has a very bikini-like look to it with there being only waistband for much of the front; it gives a “stronger” look than a normal bikini, though, with the waistband having a very square look to it. And then, of course, there’s the eponymous pecker itself… You can’t say this pair isn’t a looker! It certainly embodies the sexy, somewhat-sinful nature of the brand name – which is aided by that red-white-black color scheme I’ve mentioned before.
Waistband: The waistband here is a hair shorter than a lot of others you might come across, and it feels oddly plain and homogeneous – but that’s not a bad thing by any means! I do love how stretchy it is, and it still comes in holding on to your waist (or, rather, holding on to your hips due to being very low-rise) quite nicely. I have at times worn the pair higher up, so the waistband more closely follows the v-lines, and that works equally well.
Pouch: Well now… Obviously the big thing here is that the “pouch” is less of a pouch than it is a highly intentional tube of fabric jutting straight forward meant to hold your willie and nothing else! To be fair, there is a slight curve to the pouch beneath the “pecker” itself, and the fabric is fairly stretchy, so it’s not like the pair is flat lower down and overly constraining on your balls – but that effect is ever so slightly present. Now, since the fabric feels somewhat low-friction to being with, you might think it’s easy to fill out the pecker; actually, the slight thickness of the fabric makes it not so easy, especially if your willie is on the girthier side. It’s possible that you may have to get mostly hard in order to stick your willie in, and even then you’ll probably need give some manual effort to fully fill our the tube as the base may rather want to pull away from your crotch, and no one wants to see a limp tip at the end of your underwear. That said, while it may take some effort to wear this pair as fully intended, it’s a great wear once you get it on properly!
Backside: It’s a plain, solid-color backside, but it’s not full coverage, so that’s already some extra contrast to look at. The semi-veneer of the fabric also gives the pair some visual flair, and of course the waistband adds a strong, square top border too. There is a small and very soft tag hanging on the inside in back.
Legs: Since the design is very bikini-based, it’s really not that appropriate to talk about the “leg openings” here as both the front and back panels end before the thighs begin.
Overall: 3.5/5 – 3/5 for general wearability, but 5/5 on looks!

Blanc – Enhance Boxers – Grey – Medium

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, as with the Lilac brief.
Aesthetic: While these come very close to the “casual grey” look that I love, something also seems very intentional about this pair, to the point it pulls me out of that causal-ness as well. I think I would’ve like a darker waistband here too.
Waistband: Same as before, a fairly good waistband overall that’s quite similar to the main fabric in several properties.
Pouch: Blanc’s “Enhance” pouches are designed to really show off your willie with a very specific design that only works when pointing downward. For Blanc’s boxers, the difference between standard fit and Enhance is really only in the point of the pouch, which I think takes a bit away from the “enhancing” feature. That is, the sides of the pouch are still somewhat spread out by their connection to the rest of the fabric, which draws away some of the potential support. Also, those extra connections mean your willie has to be in a very specific place to truly fill the pouch out. For some guys, such as the Blanc models, this really works; but it’s not going to work for everyone. I’ve noticed on occasion a tiny flap-like feature that would in theory be filled out at the tip of the pouch, even when I try to angle things to fill it out fully, so it’s a bit inefficient of a design.
Backside: Nothing to excitedly write home about here, but there’s nothing bad either, and I do think it actually does a nice job of showing of a round shape for the lowest curve of your cheeks – it raises them up and away from the thighs to make your cake fairly visible. Also, the print-on tag is NOT visible from behind here, so that’s nice.
Legs: Pretty comfy I guess! Not quite as long as I like, but thankfully not tight in any way.
Other: I honestly wanted to get a fun-color Enhance pair, but none were available in a color I like and size I needed when I was ordering. Hence my two Enhance pairs are plainer colors, and the Lilac brief I got was a standard fit. Hoping to get a nice pair that gets both qualities sometime in the future!
Overall: 3/5 – for me personally, the Enhance pouch doesn’t work on Blanc’s boxers, so the excess fabric on the pouch is a little distracting. Nothing else really wrong about the pair, though.

Blanc – Standard Fit Briefs – Lilac – Medium

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, soft enough with a very nice stretch!
Aesthetic: Blanc, as a line, goes for simplicity, and they honestly do it pretty darn well! The solid lilac on this pair is unique enough to give the pair a lot of visual interest even while being a single, solid color, the waistband color complimenting it nicely, and the stylized “Blanc” logo on the waistband gives a touch of fancy to the pair.
Waistband: Honestly quite similar to the main fabric in terms of softness and stretchiness, so that’s an interesting aspect.
Pouch: Being a “standard fit” brief, there’s nothing particularly exciting about the pouch here. By the nature of the fabric, it’ll conform to your natural shape fairly well, so that’s nice. Allows for good movement while also holding you in place when not moving.
Backside: The view of the backside is easily disrupted by the fact that the print-on case information on the inside is clearly seen on the outside as well, but at least with that “tag” it’s nice in how you don’t feel it at all, even if it’s really easy to see. The lower edges of the cheeks are designed to be a little high, so it’s not complete full-coverage – you’ll probably feel those hems across the lower rounds of your cheeks from time to time. (It’s worth noting that many – but not all – briefs on the Blanc site are listed as “slim fit”, with the suggestion to buy a size up. I don’t recall if these lilac briefs had that disclaimer.)
Legs: Fairly comfy, nothing above or below what you would expect for some nice, basic briefs.
Overall: 3.5/5 – as basic, featureless briefs go, these are really quite nice! Perfect for those grab-and-go mornings, especially if you want to feel just a bit special with your everyday pairs. Only reason I’m not giving them a 4 is because of the cross-cheek hem being clearly felt from time to time.

Andrew Christian – Tighty Whitey Punked V-Clipse Boxer – Orange – Medium

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, and about what you would expect – very soft, nicely stretchy, lightweight in not incredibly breathable. Honestly pretty similar to the ///Crew Brief/// from the other day, as well as many other more traditionally-made AC underwear.
Aesthetic: The entire “Tighty Whitey Punked” line is all about high contrast colors while having the general profile of traditional tighty whities. The latter point works much better for Punked Briefs – not as much for a Boxer like this, though! And that’s even before you look around back to see the “V-Clipse” aspect of it. (Eclipse, “mooning”, get it?) The orange with cyan piping here almost gives this particular pair of pop-y ’80s vibe, which I think is really fun.
Waistband: Pretty typical as waistbands go, though maybe a tad softer and stretchier than some others.
Pouch: While I love the look of the fly on here, it’s actually completely fake, so that’s not quite so fun. Inside the pouch, though, is AC’s “Show-It” tech with a built-in C-ring, which ostensibly help get your junk up and forward, away from your legs. In practice, this pair can accomplish that well, but this issue here is that the C-ring is so high in the pair, you really need to hike your balls up to get it inside the ring and into the front pouch, which is a tad uncomfortable. The effect is impressive, though! And even if you don’t have the lower edge of the C-ring pull up tightly under your junk, it’s easy enough to just let your willie sit in the front pouch – though wearing the pair this way somewhat defeats the point of the Show-It design.

Backside: I honestly really love the unique shape of the opening back here! This needs to be done more often, as it frames your cheeks really well.
Legs: Barely any length on these, making the pair basically a square cut. While the leg openings are comfortable enough in construction, they’re a little tight on me.
Overall: 3/5 – I would rate these much higher if the built-in C-ring wasn’t so high, as that makes the pair hard for me to wear, especially compared against some of my other AC Show-It pairs. Still, it’s an incredible look, and if your personal anatomy is a bit different than mine, these could work really well!
