Good Devil – GD1018 C-String – White Leopard – One Size

Material: 100% Polyester, which doesn’t necessarily sound great as it’s all synthetic, but it’s honestly done quite well! Not listed here is the fact that a huge component of this underwear is a set of stiff wires that provide the main support (for the pair, not for your junk).
Aesthetic: Skimpy and frisky! The fact that it’s just a pouch means you’re revealing about as much skin as possible, and the white leopard print adds to the “wild side” look all the more. Then, if you do look around back, you can usually see the “string” wire peeking out from the top of your cheeks, which further compounds the feeling of naughty playfulness.
Pouch: I’ll talk just about the pouch itself here, and the wire “string” support in the next section. The pouch here is cool to the touch, (which is almost always very nice,) lightweight, and quite breathable for being 100% synthetic. It also has a great shape to it, though it does include a little bit too much space on the lower end of the pouch before it narrows between your legs. (You can see the looseness of the lower pouch in the second photo above.) This isn’t too much of an issue, and might be for the better for breathability’s sake, but it’s a bit odd. Overall, though, very nice pouch.
String: With no waistband and no straps, all pouch underwear needs some way of actually staying on your person. Usually this is accomplished by having the ring of the main opening either have a drawstring to narrow it around the base of your junk or snap in place there. Instead, Good Devil here has designed an entirely rigid framework that covers your crotch with a single thin wire slipping between your thighs and butt cheeks in such a way that the front and back of the wires – in theory – grip your torso from both sides to stay in place. In practice, this works well enough, and is usually aided by the fact that the “string” wire in back also is simply held in place by being wedged between your cheeks – basically, a very solid G-string. (And yes, the stiff wire is covered in fabric all the way around so it’s relatively comfortable.) Ideally, the lowest part of the wire would stay right up against the underside of your torso, but I’ve found that it tends to slide down half an inch or so, giving a slightly open feeling between your legs; part of this may be due to the fact that the tapering from the pouch loop to the single wire happens somewhat slowly, pushing back against your thighs a little bit right where they’re trying to meet your crotch. This can be a tad uncomfortable since you can’t fully bring your thighs together without the wire digging in a little. Also, depending on your rear, the tip of the “string” wire may stick up a bit too much, which can interfere with your pants and/or your seat back if you’re sitting down. Still, I think this is a very fun design, and one I’ve worn several times on days I just feel like exciting myself a little bit.
Overall: 3/5 – I think this is a very situational pair, and I’m sure there will probably be a number of guys who just don’t like the idea of stiff underwear (or of something, stiff or not, going between their cheeks). This pair isn’t for those guys, obviously, but I think it’d be fun for people to try out if they can get one.

Andrew Christian – Almost Naked Freedom Jock w/ Show-It – Lime – Small

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, and unsurprisingly feels very soft and cotton-y while also having a nice bit of stretch – but more on that later. Very lightweight and breathable.
Aesthetic: Lime green main fabric with a deep purple hem and a rainbow waistband can only be summed up by saying “Candy Pop!”. Bright with just the right of amount of intentional jarring, this pair absolutely demands to be looked at. And once you do look, you notice the lack of straps or anything on the back at all, which can absolutely catch you off-guard if you’re not used to seeing sling underwear (a.k.a. strapless jocks, “socks”, or however you want to categorize them).
Waistband: Softer and stretchier than some other waistbands, but otherwise pretty typical. Two-part tag in the back; I don’t recall exactly what it felt like when new, but by now it’s all quite soft (and the hanging part of the tag on my pair is uniformly frayed now).
Pouch: This pair is listed as both “Almost Naked” and “Show-It”, which I generally feel like are two non-compatible styles of AC’s design inventory, as the Show-It necessitates an inner C-ring that conflicts with the free-movement, feels-line-wearing-nothing idea behind Almost Naked, but here I can at least see when they’re both listed. Ahead of the inner C-ring, the pouch itself is fairly large and loose, which does fit that Almost Naked ideology. Still, the Show-It tech limits movement and definitely feels like it’s there, so it’s definitely not Almost Naked. The other big issue that I personally have with this pair is a common worry with slings that, for me, has been exacerbated by sizing, and that’s under-scrotum cut-in. In order for slings to stay on during the day, they usually have to have some level of grip on your anatomy, and sometimes that grip can be too strong, particularly under your junk, which is obviously undesired. You can see in the second picture above that the purple lower hem has come way up high between my thighs, and that’s not even where the underside of the internal C-ring is (see below). My balls have been pulled up incredibly far, giving that cut-in feeling below, meaning I can’t wear this pair for very long at all, and I think part of the reason that the bottom hem of this pair has come up so high is that the pair has stretched horizontally a fair amount to fit around my hips – if I had a larger size, the vertical compression in response to the horizontal stretch wouldn’t be nearly as much, and this pair would probably be a lot more comfortable. That’s why I’m selling this pair, so hopefully someone slimmer than me can really make this pair shine.

Backside/Legs: NA
Overall: 2.5/5 – I mostly rate this on the lower side simply for poor fit, which I don’t normally do, but I’m also not as much a fan of AC’s Show-It design either. It does have its place, though! (Which I may feature in a future review.) In the meantime, I do think this pair is easily a 4/5 or 4.5/5 on looks alone, so that’s on the fun site.
Great for: Sexy wear, Sex wear

Mossimo – low-rise boxer brief – Red – Small

Yes, it’s my 100th review! For this special occasion, I’m taking it all the way back to the very first “stylish” pair I bought for myself back in early grad school…

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, moderately soft and very stretchy! The fabric has a bit of a sheet-y nature that makes it feel like there’s definitely some synthetic fabric in there, so it doesn’t pull off the cotton-y feel that many other pairs with similar blends do, but it’s still very nice. It’s certainly lightweight!
Aesthetic: Simple, but the bright white piping framing the bold main fabric provides a great visual pop that helped lead me to buying a full rainbow of this line back when I first started getting “into” underwear; this red pair was actually my very first “nice” underwear purchase.
Waistband: Pretty typical as waistbands go, especially for a big-box-store, and thankfully it’s not too stiff. The pure, bright white is a nice stylish choice to not make it look boring, and it stays on at that low-rise position fairly well.
Pouch: Being a big-box option, these briefs sport a fairly flat front; that said, the way the front panels of the fly are constructed combined with the stretchy nature of the fabric means that the front panels do a good job of conforming to your junk, giving a nice cupping feeling with a little bit of shape to the “pouch” even if it’s not obviously built-in. And the fly! It’s been a while since I reviewed a pair with a fly, (#86 I think,) especially a traditional vertical fly like this pair sports (#79, which was before a break or two). The fly here is very well-done, incredibly easy to use with just one hand, and as I’ve demonstrated on a few other briefs in the past, it even allows you to pull 100% of your junk through without any uncomfortable tightness from below or side-to-side! This is how you pull off traditional vertical flies, everyone.

Backside: Just a plain, solid color, so not much to look at, though the bright white waistband helps in that sense. The fabric is also tight enough that the back doesn’t look like an unflattering expanse, and the little arch between the legs also provides a bit of nice visual structure.
Legs: Fairly good length, but IMO could be a bit longer to cover my big thighs. The hems are quite comfortable! Very little difference between them and the rest of the legs. They’ll roll up a little bit over time – again, could be longer, would fix that aspect – but it’s a fairly small problem with this pair.
Other: Sadly, Mossimo’s agreement to sell with Target died a while ago, and I don’t think it’s easy to get these pairs any more. That’s a shame since this pair (this entire line, actually) holds a special place in my heart as what started my collection. And, honestly, for being a big-box-ish line, these have held up amazingly well over the years! (Moreso than the original Andrew Christian pair I ever ordered.)
Overall: 3.5/5 – a very solid generic pair to have in your collection! Especially if you want your “everyday” selection to have that nice pop of color.
Great for: Everyday wear
Good for: Loungewear, Activewear(?), Sex wear(?)

Excavating The Bin

I moved about three years ago, and when doing so, about half of my underwear collection was transported in a big plastic tub that has lived in my closet with very little interaction since. Well, with my 100th review coming up and wanting to expand my Sales offerings, I decided to really dig in to my underwear past!

Featured center foreground in the pic above are the rainbow of Mossimo boxer briefs that I got at Target years ago as the very beginnings of my underwear collection. Dead center are some of the pairs that I think border on lingerie, some from Envy, some from Gregg Homme, and the orange one from (I believe) CheapUndies of all places! And of course, several piles of different styles all around, most quite colorful. =-)

The still-bagged set of underwear mid-top left are other pairs I like and was just too lazy to pull out for this pic. X-D The two bags upper-right, though, are underwear that I had previously (before moving) set aside as pairs I could potentially sell off, so expect those to be added to my Sales page over the next month or so!

Xtremen – Classic Stripes Boxer Brief – White Stripes – Medium

Material: 80% Nylon, 10% Polyester, 10% Spandex, which definitely feels synthetic and on the thick side, but is surprisingly soft and breathable despite it. It’s not weightless by any means, but I honestly kinda like it – which is a bit of a surprise to myself, as I had originally slated this pair for my Sales page before double-checking every pair I thought to sell and deciding I actually liked this one!
Aesthetic: Racing stripes are always fun. X-D It’s an interesting choice on Xtremen’s part to make the stripes go in different directions on each panel of the fabric, but I think it works out amazingly well! The stripes on the pouch really highlight the pouch’s contouring, especially if the pouch is being well-filled, and the horizontal stripes on the inner thighs draw your attention there just by being perpendicular, and it’s always fun looking right between the legs.
Waistband: Fairly typical as far as waistbands go I guess! Both soft enough and sturdy enough without going too far in either direction.
Pouch: Really nice shape! Not sure what else to say – neither “out there” or lackluster, just a very nice pouch. =-)
Backside: The Y-arrangement of the seams here makes the backside look a little bit messy because of just how obviously the stripes do not line up (and also because the stripes here are no longer vertical) but I still think it looks pretty fun overall. The material and cut do a good job of holding you in with a sleeker overall profile and such, with just a bit of cheek emphasis on the lower middle panel.
Legs: I like the length here for the most part. I will say that, like with the backside, the material and the cut work together to keep you tightened in, so the legs provide a sort of constant gentle squeeze, but it’s not focused on the hems so it’s honestly quite comfortable. The only problem is that these legs will roll up over time, but it takes a while, so that’s not too bad.
Overall: 3.5/5 – If you like your underwear feeling on the snug side, this is an amazing pair, with both the fabric and the overall look being pretty good just in general so it can be fun for just about everyone.
Great for: Sexy wear
Good for: Everyday wear, Loungewear

N2N Bodywear – CV6 Cosmic Vintage Trunk – Cosmic print – Medium

Material: 92% Rayon, 8% Spandex, and probably some of the softest material I have in my underwear drawer! It’s also very lightweight and stretchy, so plus points for those too.
Aesthetic: This is suuuuch a fun pattern, I absolutely love it!
Waistband: The “waistband” here is barely more than a glorified hem, which adds to the overall sleek look of the pair. It’s a bit tighter than the rest of the pair, but not in a constraining way at all – it stretches just as nicely as the rest of the fabric.
Pouch: N2N’s “NHance” pouch really shines here! It’s the same as seen way back on the cotton boxer I reviewed, and I still love it. Not only is there plenty of shape in the pouch itself to show off your junk, but that hem that loops around the underside does a great job of lifting an hefting you up – and, unlike the cotton boxer, I’ve never had the issue with this pair of it being occasionally a hair to high on the body and undercutting the scrotum a bit.
Backside: The cosmic pattern makes the back look amazing, and the pair hugs your cheeks quite nicely. The hem that goes down the middle of the back actually is designed to come up between your cheeks a little bit, giving a true “lifts and separates” effect here. X-D Even if you’re not used to thongs or wedgies, I would still say to try this pair out, because the bit of fabric sliding in there is very intentionally made and honestly feels “correct” the way they’ve done it. The only real downside here is that the cosmic pattern obscures any of the shaping between or below your cheeks, so you can’t easily see the nice lines you would expect based on the construction of the pair.
Legs: Very nicely done, following along with how good the fabric and waistband already are. As I’ve mentioned on previous pairs, I would probably prefer the legs to be a bit longer, but I still love these.
Other: When I bought these, I had also bought the CV5 Cosmic Vintage Box and CV1 Cosmic Vintage Jock as birthday presents for a friend couple I know. The “Box” was as in box-cut (i.e. square-cut) instead of as in a boxer, as it basically had no legs whatsoever but aside from just enough to distinguish it from a brief. Sadly, I don’t think any of these are easily available… But I do plan to eventually review another NHance-pouch pair of long johns that I’m currently wearing as I draft this post. =-)
Overall: 4.5/5 – If you can find something similar to these and are looking for a soft, comfy pair that also does a great job of showing off your assets, I say absolutely buy them. They’re not quite for everyday wear, though, and if you don’t like having a fabric valley gently edge between your cheeks, these wouldn’t be for you either. But I absolutely love them.

Andrew Christian – Retro Mesh Locker Room Jock – Black – Small

Material: 90% Polyamide, 10% Spandex, which isn’t the stretchiest combination around, but it’s definitely very soft and very breathable! The breathability is both from the lightness of the fabric itself and from the obvious fact that this is a mesh pair, in the style of athletic pennies.
Aesthetic: I don’t want to say this is “suave”, because that definitely doesn’t feel right, but the blue here definitely gives a “cool” feel to compliment the slightly edgy feel of the black mesh. It’s not super loud, but it is intriguing and maybe slightly alluring.
Waistband: Pretty typical for AC waistbands! Both in terms of stiffness, stretchiness, and placement above your hips.
Pouch: While this is advertised as an “Almost Naked” pair, there actually is internal structure in this pouch in the Show-It vein with an internal C-ring creating a separate pouch area for your junk. The material and hemming on this feature, though, are stretchy to the point that it doesn’t forcibly push your junk into similar positions to true Show-It pairs, and more gently promotes your package instead.

Backside/Straps: The straps here are very soft and comfy! You might almost think they’re bordering on flimsy with how soft and fairly stretchy they are, but they’re definitely a reliable construction. For this whole area of the pair, there’s more blue than black, giving an almost space-y feel to their pair – and you are looking right at a full moon, after all! I say this pair does a great job of framing your cheeks.
Legs: Not much to say here! Definitely comfortable, soft edges here.
Overall: 4/5 – Jock briefs are an interesting hybrid style that can be somewhat unpopular, but I really like this pair! To the point that I had initially thought of putting this pair up for sale, but while preparing the Sales page and trying to write reviews for each pair, I decided I liked it too much to sell. X-D Not a pair that has a lot of opportunities for wear, if I’m being honest, but it looks and feels damn good.

Mckillop – Max Bulge Modal Long John – Red – Medium

Material: 94% Modal, 6% Spandex, which is incredibly soft and stretchy! Interestingly, it feels simultaneously breathable and fairly solid.
Aesthetic: I would call these long johns incredibly sleek! The fabric itself doesn’t give a reflective, synthetic look at all, but the single color for the entire pair on top of how form-fitting it is and how it doesn’t go all the way down to the ankle all together gives the look of fluidity and suaveness (and not leaving much to the imagination). The black waistband with the brand splayed across the front then gives just enough visual contrast to add a strong-looking edge to the pair.
Waistband: Fairly typical for a waistband; has a nice height to it and great elasticity. Sit low in general, and apparently particularly low on me! That crack in back isn’t supposed to be showing; I guess I’m just bigger than what was intended for this pair.
Pouch: It’s called “Max Bulge” for a reason! The pouch here is highly contoured, and is designed with the idea that you’ll be wearing a C-ring of some sort to help your junk come forward into the pouch. (If you order it from a professional provider, it’ll likely come with one of Mckillop’s elastic C-ring bands as well for this purpose.) And even without wearing a C-ring yourself, it’s still an incredibly comfy pouch that brings your forward and up a nice amount. I’ve noticed in the past that long johns have a bad track record of not doing a good job of supporting your junk; either the pouch isn’t designed that well to begin with, or it’s designed well but the support quickly is pulled away with wear (i.e. the bottom of the pouch drops down a bit as your legs move around). This pair has neither of those problems, so I really think that’s an accomplishment!
Backside: Nothing particularly special back here; has some shape to it, at least.
Legs: Really comfy in my opinion! If you’ve got big legs like me, the fabric will stretch a fair amount and may leave you with pressure lines on your legs at the end of the day, but it’s not something you notice a ton while wearing them. Of course, I love the length.
Other: If you look closely, you’ll see that the stitching of this pair strongly outlines the shape of a normal brief – to the point that it feels somewhat like wearing a brief with legs more than wearing a long john. This is particularly true because this mid-pair stitching is a bit less forgiving stretch-wise than the rest of the pair is! It’s the only part of the pair that feels a bit tight to me. In addition to how low the waistband sits on me, this reinforces the importance of getting the correct size for you when buying these!
Overall: 4.5/5 – the only reason these aren’t getting a 5 is because of how tight that brief-ish stitching is compared to the rest of the pair. If I was taking sizing issue into account, it would come down to a 4/5 or 3.5/5 too, but that’s not really a knock against the pair itself. For what it’s worth, while I’m selling this pair, I’m planning on buying another at the Large size in hopes of getting that better fit!

Andrew Christian – Tighty Whitey Punked V-Clipse Boxer – Orange – Medium

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, and about what you would expect – very soft, nicely stretchy, lightweight in not incredibly breathable. Honestly pretty similar to the ///Crew Brief/// from the other day, as well as many other more traditionally-made AC underwear.
Aesthetic: The entire “Tighty Whitey Punked” line is all about high contrast colors while having the general profile of traditional tighty whities. The latter point works much better for Punked Briefs – not as much for a Boxer like this, though! And that’s even before you look around back to see the “V-Clipse” aspect of it. (Eclipse, “mooning”, get it?) The orange with cyan piping here almost gives this particular pair of pop-y ’80s vibe, which I think is really fun.
Waistband: Pretty typical as waistbands go, though maybe a tad softer and stretchier than some others.
Pouch: While I love the look of the fly on here, it’s actually completely fake, so that’s not quite so fun. Inside the pouch, though, is AC’s “Show-It” tech with a built-in C-ring, which ostensibly help get your junk up and forward, away from your legs. In practice, this pair can accomplish that well, but this issue here is that the C-ring is so high in the pair, you really need to hike your balls up to get it inside the ring and into the front pouch, which is a tad uncomfortable. The effect is impressive, though! And even if you don’t have the lower edge of the C-ring pull up tightly under your junk, it’s easy enough to just let your willie sit in the front pouch – though wearing the pair this way somewhat defeats the point of the Show-It design.

Backside: I honestly really love the unique shape of the opening back here! This needs to be done more often, as it frames your cheeks really well.
Legs: Barely any length on these, making the pair basically a square cut. While the leg openings are comfortable enough in construction, they’re a little tight on me.
Overall: 3/5 – I would rate these much higher if the built-in C-ring wasn’t so high, as that makes the pair hard for me to wear, especially compared against some of my other AC Show-It pairs. Still, it’s an incredible look, and if your personal anatomy is a bit different than mine, these could work really well!

Jack Adams – Crew Brief – Lime – Medium

Material: 92% Cotton, 8% Polyester, and so soft and lightweight!
Aesthetic: Loud but not fully in-your-face, it’s just a very fun pop of lime green color with the strong, obvious lines provided by the high-contrast black piping. The doulbe-line “railroad tracks” piping at the top corners of the fly on any Crew pairs are a really intriguing design choice that gives an athletic look to the pair, and the choice to make the right tracks white to contrast the rest of the piping just adds to the eye-catching nature of the design. The big, bold Jack Adams logo panel front-and-center on the waistband further adds to the confident, statement-making effect of the pair.
Waistband: Nice and stretchy with some good height to it!
Pouch: This is a fun one! There’s some nice but not overt contouring on both panels of the pouch/fly, such that you’re always going to get a fairly nice (but never really intensely defined) shape whether you like wearing your willie up or down. The Crew brief sports a U-fly design, which is generally very fun, though on this pair both openings are fairly far down your crotch, which makes it a tiny bit more work to whip your willie out if it’s naturally behind the inner panel to begin with. You might also think that the contouring would make it hard to pull your boy out for whatever reason, but the opening is not hemmed, letting the fabric stretch as much as it likes, and the fabric goes so far down that there’s plenty of fabric there, meaning it’s quite easy to manipulate honestly. (You can see how much kinda folded up there in the picture below; *warning* for shaft.) This also means that you don’t have to hold the fly open at all while you’re using it, which is a huge plus. The only real downside here is that you can’t let your willie sit in between the inner and outer openings of the fly, because once you’re past the inner opening, there’s very little fabric up front to hold you back any more.

Backside: Clearly not a full-coverage pair, almost closer to a bikini than a regular brief! Of course, I have a fairly big backside myself, so it might work better for more toned guys. Plain-colored backsides can be unflattering, especially for full-coverage pairs, but the green-vs-black of this pair is still a nice contrast, and with the leg openings coming up over the cheeks themselves, you get more visual contrast than just a full expanse of lime. There is a finicky tag hanging down inside, and it’s probably the worst part of the pair, but that’s not saying much and can be dealt with easily enough if you wanted to do so.
Legs: A little on the tight side, especially going from the hips down front toward the crotch, but overall still fairly comfy (and probably just a sizing issue, as the pair overall is kinda tight anyway).
Overall: 4.5/5 – the only reason I’m not going a full 5 is because this pair, for me, is a bit small. I think I may try buying this again in a bigger size, because it’s pretty great!
