Whoops!
Looks like I accidentally didn’t schedule any post for the 17th. Sorry about that! Regular posts resume tomorrow.
I also seemed to fall of in my reblog reviews – will try doing some of those today!
Also, something to look forward to: I got a new order of jockstraps in yesterday! Four pairs, but they’re two 2(x)ist two-packs, so we’ll only get two reviews from the order. Still, some Fresh Pairs for the first time in quite a while!
Cocksox – CX93CPR Long Leg Boxer – Sniper (Camo) – Medium
039

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Lycra, a very athletic feel… Not the softest pair out there, especially around the base of the legs (where my skin starts disagreeing with the tightness). The fabric just has this stiffer, almost impersonal feel to it on its own – but you don’t notice the fabric much once you put it on (aside from my aforementioned personal problem with the legs).
Aesthetic: Camo is fun! Otherwise, the cut is very simple, in a practical, good sense. The legs also provide a nice slimming effect. Again, gives a very athletic feel.
Waistband: A little on the tight side, but otherwise a fairly standard waistband.
Pouch: Like with the CX05 Thong, Cocksox does great with the pouch. It’s kinda similar to AC’s Almost Naked line, or Ergowear’s Max line – very nice shape that lets you hand forward, with a seam coming up very comfortably under your junk to help lift and promote without being too high or too low.
Backside: Not much to say about this one! Considering the longer legs beneath it, I guess the upper backside errs a little on the side of flattening you, staying a bit on the tighter side. The tag is simply printed on the inside of the backside, so no annoying physical tag to worry about!
Legs: Oooohhhh I LOVE how long the legs are on this pair! And, overall, I’d say the legs are pretty comfy. As mentioned above, they feel a little tighter the lower on the leg you get, so near the leg openings they start annoying my skin occasionally, but not enough for me to really count this as too much of a knock against them. The leg openings themselves are plenty comfortable.
Overall: 4/5 – for everything I criticised about the fabric and the leg-tightness, I honestly really like this pair. I’m always a fan of longer legs, and the pouch here is just great. If you’re looking to get this pair, they’re no longer listed as CX93CPR, but instead CSX93, with the camo print no longer an option – and, on top of that, they seem to have disappeared from the site between by initially writing this review and the time it got published. Bother.
Great for: Activewear
Good for: Everyday wear, Loungewear, Sleepwear

About briefs’ backsides
After having reviewed seven different briefs recently (4/5 of my own most recent reviews and 3/5 recent reblog reviews) I realized there was something I wanted to point out about how the cut of a pair of briefs – particularly around the back – affects how the pair looks and feels.
If we’re gonna be quite honest, most people ignore what goes on in the latter half of a pair of briefs. All of the attention goes to the front, whether it’s pouch design or fly usability or general comfort or what else not. The backside is almost always a single layer of uninterrupted fabric. It’s so simple that most guys won’t notice it in everyday wear, nor is a pair of briefs ever judged good enough to remain in someone’s drawer unless something is really messed up.
Obviously, how a pair of briefs fits around back depends on how much backside a guy has back there to cover. However, I still think you can categorize the approaches into four broad categories:
1. briefs that aim to cover the whole ass, even for bigger asses, i.e. ending low with room for curve
2. briefs that cover the whole ass (i.e. ending low) but are flatter-backed, maybe letting bigger asses slip out beneath a bit
3. briefs that cover smaller/flatter asses wholly and still provide fairly good coverage for bigger/rounder guys
4. briefs that intend to have a slimmer, straighter design, and usually come across your cheeks no matter your shape, i.e. ending somewhat higher
I think a lot of the hate given to traditional whitey-tighties is that they almost always fall into one of the first two categories, which are two categories that are very difficult to make look attractive. In case 1, you either get a stretched expanse of bland white, or something that’s somewhat loose; in case 2, no shape never gives you anything to show off, and if you have a bigger ass you might get some ‘underflow sag’ as I call it. Depending on how low the backside goes, these cases might also have the situation where the front view “gives away” how big the backside is by already showing a bit of a turn-down in the front side of the leg openings.
There are several ways to mitigate these effects, especially for case 1. Instead of having the big expanse of white, different colors and patterns can give something more pleasing to look at. Also, controlling how tall the “hip band” of the brief is can also both give the backside a slimmer look and prevent the front-side downward curve of the legs. There’s not much to do for case 2 unless you already have a flatter ass so that those kinds of briefs fit well on you with the proper coverage.
The line between case 3 and case 4 is a little blurry, but I would posit that the Aussiebum Wobbl and AC Fly Tagless brief are definitely case 3, while AC’s Basix and OTFYM briefs are probably case 4. I say these because, in the latter two, enough cheek is hanging out that the curve between the cheeks and thighs is very clear, while that’s not the case for the former two. Another good example of case 4 is AC’s anchor brief, where even on the flatter model you can tell that the lower part of his cheeks are intentionally not covered by the briefs’ backside. I believe most “modern, fashionable” white briefs usually fall into one of these categories, too.
So – even if a brief’s (or anything’s, aside from maybe a jockstrap’s) front is where all the attention is meant to go, you should still be conscious of how the backside is shaped! A guy’s butt is a beautiful thing, and since there’s almost never any huge difference in comfort in back, you should try to nab pairs that flatter you back there!
Nasty Pig – Venom Brief – Pink – Medium
038

Material: 93% Modal, 7% Spandex, feels really silky-smooth on top of having not one but two layers in front to further reduce friction and provide soft but strong coverage.
Aesthetic: I loooove the “venom” snakeskin-style print on this pair! It gives the pair a very dynamic and powerful look. It’s really interesting how the print compliments the pink of this pair (as well as the baby-blue of another venom pair I also own) to kinda subvert the normal associations with that color, because these look fuckin’ strong and assertive.
Waistband: Overall, very comfy typical waistband that sits below the waist.
Pouch: As mentioned earlier, there are actually two layers of fabric for the pouch – an outer layer that shows the awesome print patter, and a softer, less-silky-more-cottony layer on the inside of the pouch for extra comfort and durability. (I specifically add the durability comment because NP is known for encouraging their clientèle to be a bit rough and rowdy with their products… which I have been before with this pair on the receiving end!) Despite having two layers of fabric, the pouch is not restrictive at all – a common problem with any pair that uses a fly, probably because the Venom’s pouch doesn’t include any of the extra structural elements that a fly needs. It doesn’t have an incredible shape to it, but it’s roomy enough and certainly can stretch, so your boys will certainly be comfy in this pair. The print pattern also helps by having extra-wide “scales” right down the middle, making it look like you’re bulging out quite a bit!
Backside: Comfy and not too tight, even for someone with a bigger ass like me. It’s one of the few briefs I own that makes a point of covering the ENTIRE ass, without skimping near the legs for a slimming effect (or for the intent of guys with smaller asses – which, considering NP’s beefier target demographic, makes sense). It’s like a pair of traditional whitey tighties in that sense, except the snakeskin pattern helps break up the look enough that it doesn’t look like one big, bland badonkadonk.
Legs: Nothing to really say here! The leg openings are comfy enough, soft and elastic enough to feel like they fit just right for what I assume would be a wider range of leg sizes.
Overall: 5/5 – get this brief! It may not have a fly, but they’re super-comfy and look great, not to mention are quite durable. As said above, I have second pair of these myself in baby blue.
Great for: Sexy wear, Everyday wear, Sex wear(?)
Good for: Activewear, Loungewear, Sleepwear

The #dasoulunderwear sport Brief, available online soon. #menswear #fitness #mensunderwear
I’ve been following @dasoulinc for a while now, high time I do a reblog review of one of their pairs!
Obviously, the first thing that stands out about this pair (aside from the name on the waistband) is the pouch. Aesthetically, the bright blue color draws your attention to it, which is nice to begin with. Doubly nice is that this pouch looks amazing shape-wise, too! The pouch seems quite sizeable, and it hangs low (both moreso than some of Dasoul’s other stuff?) to let your legs highlight your junk.
I’m not sure what the material for the pouch is, but the rest of the brief appears to be a fun mesh – overall, I’m guessing it’s similar to the Luis Black/White boxer brief that’s currently on sale on their site.
As mentioned before, the waistband if very noticeable – both with the big, bold lettering, as well as the fact that it seems on the taller side as waistbands go.
Definitely interested in getting this once it’s available online to try out in person!

I wanna know what brand this brief is! The fabric looks like a very interesting texture. Not cotton by the looks of it, but I’m guessing fairly comfy – maybe nicely breathable and smooth? The shape of these briefs is also really sleek, with a nice mid-to-low-rise cut, and fairly good pouch. This looks to me like a great pair to do workouts in.
Also, can I mention that his guy has the perfect body and face?? OMG =^//^= Just the right amount of muscle and little bit of hair…
Calvin Klein – Cotton Classic Brief – White – Medium
037

Material: 100% Cotton, as if you would expect anything else from a mainstream brand on a very traditional pair of underwear. Definitely soft, but not luxuriously so in any way. It will definitely feel like you’re wearing underwear with these.
Aesthetic: Ah, the whitey tighty… I’ve discussed the back-and-forth about whether whitey tighties are “sexy” or not before. I think this line of very traditional briefs from KC do a good job of sprucing up the “whitey tighty” into something presentable, with fairly clean piping and shape, no weak fabric, and an alternate-color, nicely-lined waistband. It’s built for the “average Joe”, though, and looks better from the front than from the back. CK does a better job of turning the whitey-tighty into a sexual accessory when they modify the cut to use less fabric and forego the fly.
Waistband: Overall, very comfy typical waistband that sits below the waist.
Pouch: There’s a bit of room and shaping for you, but closer to the traditional brief design, it’s more of a strap-you-down sort of thing, especially with the vertical fly putting two distinct layers of fabric stretched over your junk instead of just one. That said, I do highly appreciate the fly on this pair. CK went with what works, without trying to modify it up or down or out. In fact, even with the fair amount of overlap, the fly is so easy to use that it’s not that uncomfortable if you whip ALL of your junk out, not just your wille. (Not a practical piece of trivia for everyday bathroom use, of course, but if you want your boys free for… other activities… it’s nice.)
Backside: Very comfy, but also not very flattering at all! Ya win some, ya lose some.
Legs: Not much to say about the leg openings on these briefs. Not too loose, nor cutting in to your torso or thighs either.
Overall: 3/5 – I personally think it’s worth having some really basic, simple underwear in your collection, and CK’s briefs here would be a great way to go. CK also has slight variations on these briefs, e.g. depending on how low or high you want the rise, so worth checking out.
Great for: Everyday wear
Good for: Loungewear, Sex wear(?)
Modus Vivendi – Open Pocket Boxer – Blue – Medium
036

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane, which looks by the numbers similar to the AE Boxer Brief but feels way more like the AC Curve Brief (if a bit more taut). Go figure!
Aesthetic: A strong, solid blue with white piping gives this pair an upbeat, confident look.
Waistband: Overall, very comfy typical waistband that sits below the waist. Ever so slightly on the taller, tauter side.
Pouch: Ahhhh another H-Fly pouch… Makes me happy. =-) This one looks like it has very little opening on the front side of the pouch, but it still functions perfectly well. The pouch itself is a little on the strap-you-down side of tightness but still has a good enough shape and capacity to grow and let you fill it out.
Backside: The fact that this pair overall errs on the tighter side actually works out nicely in back – gives your cheeks a really good shape!
Legs: On the short side, clearly. There’s a threat of them bunching up a bit, but the construction is fairly good and the pair seems to avoid that for the most part. Still a little on the tight side for my big thighs, though.
Overall: 3.5/5 – a solid, comfy pair to have in your collection, especially if you like the shorter legs and/or like your underwear to have a nice grip on you all-around.
Great for: Everyday wear
Good for: Sleepwear, Loungewear, Sexy wear(?)
Andrew Christian – Off to Fuck Your Man Brief w/ Almost Naked – Red – Medium
035

Material: 93% Rayon, 7% Spandex, which gives the fabric and interesting feel. Not quite cotton-y, but neither incredibly synthetic. Feels like it has some weight/thickness even when not being very bulky.
Aesthetic: Solid red color, just two and a half visible seams on the pair, no big shaping features… Waistband is ever so slightly shiny, though. Made to look sleek, if a little plain. The literal only draw for the pair is the print on the back. =-)
Waistband: Generally good stretchiness and comfortable fabric, although it’s a bit more synthetic-feeling than some of AC’s other waistbands. Sit at or below the waist.
Pouch: It’s AC’s Almost Naked, and a very good example of it. See here or here for comparisons (and I’ll mention more in future reviews).
Backside: Not much to write about the shape and feel of the backside of this pair. However, printed across the ass in bright blue letters is the phrase “OFF TO FUCK YOUR MAN”. Yup, this pair is exactly what it says on the tin!
Legs: Nothing really of note here either. Comfy as well.
Overall: 4/5 – Comfy like a lot of what AC produces, but nothing to write home about unless you want “OFF TO FUCK YOUR MAN” across your ass! X-D Unfortunately, like many of AC’s fun designs, it’s no longer available. That said, AC has continued with the theme of making basic briefs with very gay phrases printed across the ass. Have fun!
Great for: Sexy wear, Everyday wear, Loungewear
Good for: Sleepwear, Activewear
