Review #50

I’m hitting a big milestone with today’s upcoming review, which I thought felt like it would be fun to point out. =3

It’s gonna be from one of my favorite brands, and I’ll be trying a few minor things to hopefully improve the pictures: I’m saving them bigger, and also making a tiny gap between each panel. Let me know if it’s a good change or not!

Male Power – Swirl Mesh G-String – Blue – S/M

049

Material: 85% Nylon, 15% Spandex, and I still don’t know my material enough to say if that’s just the mesh, just the support, or represents a mixture of both. I usually assume that the listed blend of materials refers to whatever the “main” fabric used in a pair of underwear, but I feel like that assumption breaks down when you have two (or more) types of material in roughly equal measure in a pair…
Aesthetic: In a word, skimpy! The mesh pouch doesn’t even cover what most pouches do, and the bright blue color (with black scaffolding) is made all the more enticing with a lace-y pattern sewn in.
Waistband: Simple, soft, and nicely stretchy! Also pretty lightweight for as solid as it is (or maybe it just feels very solid compared to the rest of the pair!) The one drawback here is that the tag, affixed to the middle-back of the waistband, is definitely noticeable. Not necessarily uncomfortable, but definitely noticeable.
Pouch: Tiny! But very nicely shaped – a very gentle (if not very enhancing) pouch for your jewels – keeps them away from the legs well. Also, I’ve mentioned before that mesh can be hit-or-miss; I’d definitely consider the mesh of this pair a hit. Lightweight and well-designed, it never gives you the “bumpy” feeling of bits of you skin sticking through the openings, which can in those bad cases lead to rubbing unevenly against whatever else you’re wearing on top, and in particularly bad cases can be felt even in open air. No worries about that with this pouch! You probably have to wear your willie downward, though, unless you don’t mind your pride either rubbing against the inside of your pants or wagging out in the air. (And I don’t mind, depending on the situation – the pouch certainly works well whether it’s holding all your jewels or just your balls, which is an interesting bit of size magic going on there.) Like with many G-Strings, though, the insides of your legs will almost certainly be rubbing against each other.
String: Small, soft, and well-strung. =-) You’ll hardly notice it (which can be a plus or a minus depending on how much you like the feeling of something tickling your backdoor.)
Overall: 3/5 – great pair, though not something I would wear generally, since I personally like a tad bit more fabric and avoiding any thigh-rubbing. That said, it’s a very, very playful pair, which is why it’s getting more than 2.5/5 (but still lower than the 3.5/5 I gave the Jack Adams Flyer Thong.)
Great for: Sexy wear, Sex wear
Good for: Loungewear, Everyday wear

Mesh ain’t hiding nothing 😉

Aussiebum going all risque here! X-D

Black mesh is almost always a nice looker, and this is no exception! Hard to tell the pouch shape with mesh, but of course the shape isn’t the point when you can see right through it anyway!

I like the black+white look of the waistband here, too – with the font, it looks especially bold and statement-making (as if the mesh didn’t already do that).

Usually I say that mesh is 50/50 in terms of how it feels, since sometimes it feels like wire, and other times it feel like your skin is bulging through each little hole and you get a “bumpy” feeling inside your pants. The mesh here looks thicker and softer, so that’s nice, but TBD if it gives that “bumpy” feeling.

briefsboy25:

I can in theory see the name on the label in front here, but it’s just a bit too small and blurry for me to work out…

Sad that I can’t make out the brand because this looks like a fun pair! Green camo is always an exciting aesthetic, and this thong does it well. The pouch on this pair has a great shape to it, even if it’s more for showing off than for ergonomic comfort. X-D I say that because it’s completely rounded – and it also looks like it’s coming a little off the skin on the sides of the pouch. (Though maybe this guy is just packing that much!)

In fact, I think the sizing here is what’s going. Not only does the pouch look like it’s coming off the skin a little bit, but you can see that the hip straps are just slightly folding over themselves – a sign that things are tight over there as well. This guy should’ve bought a bigger pair! X-D (Still looks amazing though.)

Pikante – Battle Submarine Thong – Black – M

048

Material: 88% Nylon, 12% Spandex, overall fairly comfy! Not super-soft or super-smooth, but definitely nicely functional.
Aesthetic: Well, it’s Pikante… Having sailor faces all over the pouch is certainly a fun take! X-D The small horizontal mesh panel also adds to Pikante’s risque M.O.
Waistband: The waistband itself it pretty good, material-wise, though this thong suffers from a symptom I’ve seen among many more “stylish” underwear pairs in that the stitching that connects the waistband to the rest of the pair causes that lowest sliver of the waistband to be much less elastic than the rest of the waistband overall. This makes it a bit of a pain to pull on or off, with the one thin but strong section of the pair that is much less forgiving than the material around it. Always makes you worry about tearing something important. And although it’s not shown in the pictures above, that lowest edge of the waistband has a tendency to roll up over the rest of the waistband above each hip.
Pouch: Very nice shape, especially the lower part of the pouch! That is, it forms a really nice little pocket for your balls; doesn’t “lift” them a lot, but keeps them very well separate from your legs. The pouch overall also wiggles nicely. The pouch fabric also has lines of “breathing holes” throughout it, so that in theory makes the pair very comfy to wear long-term. And of course, the peekaboo mesh panel across the top is a sexy little touch; conveniently, you don’t really notice the difference in fabric at all while wearing the thong. The only downside is that the pouch isn’t incredibly wide against your body, and might but in a little bit with long-term wear; that latter fact might be a function of the theme I’ve noticed with Pikante often being under-sized.
Backside/String: This thong has one of the widest “straps” I’ve ever seen! You might think that means it’s uncomfortable between the cheeks, but the fabric is thin and comfy enough that it simply folds up, and you don’t really notice it! The tag in back is moderately large and moderately stiff, but thankfully is attached in a place and way that you don’t really notice it either (i.e. the edges aren’t annoying at all.)
Other: This is the first Pikante pair I’ve ever bought where the sizing is moderately correct versus what I expect. X-D I may get to reviewing some of old purchase attempts, but they’ve almost always run too small for me, as alluded to earlier.
Overall: 2/5 – I hesitate to call this a “bad” pair, so I feel a bit bad about giving it just a 2, but the waistband issue is just a bit much for me to overlook. Were it not for that, this could be a 3.5/5. Still a very fun pair, and if you like thongs and can get the sizing correct, definitely worth wearing!
Great for: Sexy wear
Good for: Everyday wear

Contour – Prive Full Brief – Navy//White – L//S

047

Material:

98% Cotton, 2% Elastane, and it feels like it – almost but slightly not

quite like pure cotton. There’s definitely a slight stretch holding the

material together, and a small cooling effect.
Aesthetic:

Single color, slight texturing, no waistband – they went for simplicity

here, and the effect was well-executed! Nothing here greatly grabs your

attention, but it’s a big enough cut to give a somewhat slimming effect,

and the pouch will get your attention with the lack of anything else

doing so.
Waistband: Not really there! I mean, it is, but it’s

wrapped in more of the general fabric itself, which is pretty nice.

Interestingly, even though I got two noticeably different sizes for this

design, (they didn’t have M available when I ordered but I really

wanted to try this design,) there was almost no difference in how tight

the waistband felt. The difference in size made itself more known in the

backside than in the waistband.

Pouch:

Again, very simple, but effective as such! Kinda flat, but can countour

enough to give a good bulge if you wear your willie downward.

Definitely comfortable; like many of the pairs I’ve reviewed, the pouch

has a double layer of fabric, in contrast to the single layer through

most of the pair.
Backside: Just a plain expanse of fabric – so it’s

comfortable enough, though not a ton to look at, although you can see

the texturing of the fabric. The contrast between the L and the S makes

itself obvoius here (and not the waistband, interestingly) with how that

“expanse” stretches over your ass (or not). You can see that the L navy

pair covers my whole ass fairly well, while the S white pair is very

clearly stretched tight over my cheeks, and the back of the waistband

comes up lower; it’s meant to be “full coverage”, but it’s having

trouble doing so… So it all really depends on the look or feel you

want to have, whether you pick S, M, or L with this pair. The “tag” is

just printed on the insde of the back, as you can kinda see in the pics

below. Not something to worry about! Unless you happen to get sweaty for

whatever reason.

Legs:

Similar to the issues with the backside, the fit/comfort on the legs

depends on which size you’re talking about here. The leg openings on the

L navy pair were almost loose, while they were definitely tight (though

not cutting) on the S white pair. Either way, the leg openings

themselves are designed pretty well, and like the waistband are just

more of the general fabric, just slightly smaller overall and fairly

comfy.
Overall: 3/5 – like the AC Basix pair, I think this

Countour Collection is a great addition to your collection just as an

everyday, general wear pair of undies. Unlike the Basix, though, it

doesn’t seem like a ton of extra design thought was put into it – i.e.

it’s a little on the plain side. But plain can be good!

UndieReviews DC returns soon!

Yes, it’s not just hype this time! I actually have a queue of reviews built up now, so I’ll start posting my own reviews again starting this Friday or Saturday. =-D

Just to not burn through queue too quickly, I think I’ll post reviews every third day or so instead of every other day like I tried doing back when I started the blog.

As always, my blog is open for submissions and for questions if anyone feels like interacting more!

Crap, I should know what brand this is just by the waistband; it’s so damn distinctive….

But I like the pink pair w/ black waistband, the look really works here. Pouch isn’t super-impressive, but doesn’t need to be… X3

Looks like comfy material too

=EDIT=

Per the link comment below, the brand is Marco Marco!

briefsboy25:

TopMan is a brand based in England that I haven’t heard of before. Just from a quick browse of their online store, they seem like a fairly low-key brand. That is, they’ve got underwear in fun colors and fun prints, but it looks like they aren’t trying to push any boundaries with their various cuts or anything like that. Also a pretty plain website in general – more about the business than about trying to make a brand identity.

This particular brief here looks like a fairly good embodiment of the company, just from my first impression. Pretty plain and functional, though nothing to write home about. The fabric looks pretty “flat” and maybe a little on the tighter side; the shape of the pouch is made for simplicity of construction, not for particularly trying to look good (though it certainly doesn’t look bad either). The waistband looks like it’s on the bigger side and a slightly different material – could be fine, but part of me think it could be a little cumbersome too.

Side note: I’ve mentioned before I love pairing underwear with other articles of clothing. This guy’s socks do not match the briefs.

I’ve previously said that the JockstrapCentral models are super-hot, and they certainly make the Nasty Pig Union Suit look better than I did. X’-D
