Thrust – briefs – Orange//Green – Large//Medium

106

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, but while this blend is common, they way it’s been done here is definitely not. The fabric here feels somewhat synthetic despite being mostly cotton, and feels oddly slick and tight, and also incredibly thin. In fact, everything about these pairs just feels a bit tight, even with the Large, which is a bit odd and a tad restrictive to me.
Aesthetic: Ho boy, these briefs are the embodiment of “loud and proud”! While I’ve talked multiple times about the red-white-black color combination before, it’s possible to get similar effects with any strong, saturated color in place of the red, and that’s exactly what’s happened here. The racing stripes going vertically down the front absolutely draw your eye to the curve of the pouch – these pairs are entirely about having that “in your face” look, it absolutely demands to be noticed.
Waistband: Very nicely stretchy though maybe a tad bit sturdier than normal, and a bit taller than some other waistbands, but otherwise pretty typical. What’s not typical here is the fact that the tags are actually affixed to the left hip instead of the small of the back – and it absolutely works.

Pouch: The pouch has a relatively nice shape to it, though nothing incredibly promoting. As with the fabric in general, the pouch does feel a bit on the tight side even with the larger pair, which has its pros and cons. On one hand, having the pair stretch tightly over your junk can make your bulge look more impressive, and having everything strapped down can be great for athletic activity too; on the other hand, being constantly squeezed can also just be generally uncomfortable. Still, almost always looks great, no matter how you try positioning your junk. The construction of the pair makes it such that wearing your willie up or willie down doesn’t actually seem to have much effect on the presentation of your bulge when looking at it from the front, which is an interesting consequence of the fabric pattern and stitching. (The positioning is clearer when viewed from the side, of course.)

Backside: Plainest part of the pairs, but the strong color and big brand print across the waistband make it look nice enough. Not quite full coverage, and the tightness of the pair lets the lower part of your cheeks separate a bit as the fabric comes up between them – nowhere near the point of a wedgie, of course; only just enough to have that visual representation.
Legs: As with much of the pair, the leg openings feel a bit tight and restrictive, though even with the Medium for me, it’s not to the extent of being deal-breaking by any means – it’s just a bit tight, and probably not something you’d want to wear for an extended amount of time.
Overall: 3/5 – I’d say these are an absolute 5/5 for looks, but only a passable 25 for comfort. Excellent pairs to wear to a club or maybe to the gym, but probably not something I’d recommend wearing for a full day unless you definitely like having that tighter feel for your undies.

Andrew Christian – Tighty Whitey Punked V-Clipse Boxer – Orange – Medium

087

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, and about what you would expect – very soft, nicely stretchy, lightweight in not incredibly breathable. Honestly pretty similar to the ///Crew Brief/// from the other day, as well as many other more traditionally-made AC underwear.
Aesthetic: The entire “Tighty Whitey Punked” line is all about high contrast colors while having the general profile of traditional tighty whities. The latter point works much better for Punked Briefs – not as much for a Boxer like this, though! And that’s even before you look around back to see the “V-Clipse” aspect of it. (Eclipse, “mooning”, get it?) The orange with cyan piping here almost gives this particular pair of pop-y ’80s vibe, which I think is really fun.
Waistband: Pretty typical as waistbands go, though maybe a tad softer and stretchier than some others.
Pouch: While I love the look of the fly on here, it’s actually completely fake, so that’s not quite so fun. Inside the pouch, though, is AC’s “Show-It” tech with a built-in C-ring, which ostensibly help get your junk up and forward, away from your legs. In practice, this pair can accomplish that well, but this issue here is that the C-ring is so high in the pair, you really need to hike your balls up to get it inside the ring and into the front pouch, which is a tad uncomfortable. The effect is impressive, though! And even if you don’t have the lower edge of the C-ring pull up tightly under your junk, it’s easy enough to just let your willie sit in the front pouch – though wearing the pair this way somewhat defeats the point of the Show-It design.

Backside: I honestly really love the unique shape of the opening back here! This needs to be done more often, as it frames your cheeks really well.
Legs: Barely any length on these, making the pair basically a square cut. While the leg openings are comfortable enough in construction, they’re a little tight on me.
Overall: 3/5 – I would rate these much higher if the built-in C-ring wasn’t so high, as that makes the pair hard for me to wear, especially compared against some of my other AC Show-It pairs. Still, it’s an incredible look, and if your personal anatomy is a bit different than mine, these could work really well!

This eye-catching outfit is entirely from Breedwell, whose Moto Brief I reviewed the other week! I always love a good outfit, and companies that make full setups like this always make me smile. =-)

Starting with the centerpiece is what appears to be a jockstrap of some sort with a pink Breedwell Glow band down the front of the pouch! Now, Breedwell sells “Glow jockstrap” cups that can be attached to any compatible base jockstrap, but if that was what we were seeing here, we wouldn’t see the yellow/peach/pink shiny pouch that we are. As such, I’m not entirely sure what Breedwell underwear or accessory this guy is wearing… I do really love the sheen, though!

Higher on up, we’re seeing what appear to be a yellow or green Glow shoulder harness and a red/orange/yellow Glow armband. The synergy with all of the colors & designs here, along with a generally good match to the guy wearing them, really make an incredibly strong sell for this being a sexy, well-coordinated club outfit! I don’t think there’s any way in the world *I* could pull it off, but damn does it look good!

The only downside to Breedwell’s entire Glow collection is that, by the nature of these LED systems, most everything is somewhat stiff. This means that your sizing has to be exact, and in the case of any Glow jockstrap add-ons, means you’ve got something hard either limiting your pouch and/or in the folds of your body (waist area or the thigh-cheek fold). They’re also damn expensive, and laundering is out of the picture. Really sexy look, but just be ready to take care of these properly and only wear them in specific situations!

Popping with PUMP! Here we have a bold boxer-brief/trunk, which is a but surprising to say for a pair that’s mostly white, but I think you can see why this pair is so visually stunning. The three colors involved are all quite crisp, and the paneling makes your eyes instantly focus on the orange pouch (and inner thighs, it seems).

The fabric looks fairly comfortable – if I had to wager a guess, probably some cotton blend. The waistband also looks similar. At least, even if it’s a different material, it looks pretty comfortable as well. It’s also sitting quite low on the model’s hips here…

The one thing I don’t 100% like about this picture is that the lighting combines with the orange and the angle to make it hard to really discern the shape of the pouch, even with the black seam going down the front. I think I can see some anatomy contours on our right, so I’m guessing the pouch is actually fairly deep and well-shaped as well as being comfortably snug, but it’s still a bit hard to tell. At the very least, the outer fly opening looks fairly tall, so I would hope it’s a nicely functional pair in that regard!

I’ve reblogged a PUMP! pair once before, and even though I said I really need to try the brand out, I still haven’t done so… I really need to fix that soon.

Veni Masse – Breathable multi-function separate ball hammock Boxer Brief – “Brown” (orange) – L

074

Material: 88% Modal, 12% Spandex, at least as stated on the tag, as it’s advertised online as a 90/10 blend instead. Very sporty, lightweight, low-friction feel, and has a nice stretch too. Not sure what either the mesh or the waistband fabric makeup is, though.
Aesthetic: Not sure how to describe it, aside from maybe “active” or “flashy”? The mesh paneling around the pouch certainly gives the sporty look, and there are so many panels to see right up front, it just generally looks impressive. There’s a bit of a visual disconnect between the main body of the pair and the waistband itself with the red-white-and-blue stripes that don’t match anything else, but it’s honestly not that big of a distraction IMO.
Waistband: As sport and kinda-synthetic as the main fabric is, the waistband is nicely soft and more like a more solid cotton-based waistband. It has a good stretch to it, and sits above the hips, at or below the waist.

Pouch: This is another dual-pouch pair of underwear, with a nice rounded area of the mesh below for your balls and a nice hole in the first inner layer of mesh for your willie to go through. Interestingly, though, I might almost count this as a triple-pouch pair of underwear, because the “front pouch” actually is made of TWO layers of fabric constructed like a sleeve to hold your willie in place. The fabric is not so tight that you have to use the sleeve, either – and even though there is an opening at the top of the sleeve, I wouldn’t recommend using it as a functional fly, because that opening doesn’t stretch downward enough to make it very useful for any activity; that is, as long as your willie is in the sleeve, it’s going to be pointed straight up. I personally like wearing my willie straight upward, all other things being equal, so I love that part of the design, but as you can see below, it is possible to not use the sleeve and let yourself hang to the side or downward as well (though the downward opening is so far down, it might not be very comfortable trying to aim forward for whatever reason) – and the fabric is giving enough that it’s incredibly to switch between sleeved and side-hanging whenever you want.

Backside: Solid color backside is nothing to write home about, but it is a comfortable backside, and it does provide some separation between your cheeks, which looks kinda nice. There’s a tag on the inside of the back, but it’s very soft, completely unnoticeable to me.
Legs: The legs are a little on the short side, especially when worn on my thighs, (almost makes the pair look more like a trunk than like boxer briefs,) but they’re definitely comfy enough! The legs are just as stretchy as the rest of the fabric, and surprisingly they don’t roll up very much.
Other: Like a bunch of Asian-band underwear, there doesn’t seem to be official names for any of their cuts, so the “name” shown above is just the best description I could come up with, especially to differentiate it from other Veni Masse pairs I’ll be reviewing next. (And, if anyone is tired of seeing my dick flopping about, this is the last time for a while, sorry!)
Overall: 5/5 – I think this is a really great pair! Really breathable, really easy-going, and I love the unique dual- (or triple-)pouch design. The amount of individual fabric panels involved, especially with some being mesh, gives the pair an almost-gear-like look to it, too, so if your partner is into that sort of thing, bonus!

Wanjiang – Hipsters w/ open back – Orange – M

071

Material: 89% Rayon, 11% Spandex, and while it’s clearly not cotton, it has a very cotton-like softness to it, which I really like, on top of the fact that it’s lightweight, stretchy, and almost cool to the touch.
Aesthetic: Bold and attention-getting! This orange isn’t a common color to being with, and the black-vs-orange contrast is played up so well with this pair, from the thin orange line tracing the middle of the waistband to the black lining around the pouch to the hint of black hems you can see under the cheeks from the back view or the hems on the hips. The shiny snap visible at the top of the pouch is also a very intriguing and show-off-y touch. Everything is loud, everything pops; and the shape is visually great too, with a relatively short profile top to bottom and a nice square-cut look (which wears more like two halves of a V on me!)
Waistband: Just a hair on the tall side, and very soft, so I like it a lot. It’s got a good stretch, and a good thickness to it too – it’s going to weather some good tugs. 😉 The pair sits nicely on your hips while also coming a bit low in front. The tag in back is soft and largely unnoticeable.
Pouch: Okay, there are three different components to this “pouch”, so let’s go through all of them. The base layer of the pair has an open front, which has comfy enough edges, but would be a little on the large side if taken on its own. It’s not alone, though, as built in to the pair is a nice, comfy, elastic C-strap similar to those found with the Mckillop slings I had reviewed a long time ago, although this one is attached to the top of the pouch area instead of the bottom. This C-strap is quite comfortable, thankfully, and does a great job of lifting and forwarding your junk. Lastly, then, is the flap-like pouch itself, a small but very nicely shaped lens of fabric that attaches to the main pair with two snaps at the top and bottom of the pouch. It does a great job of cupping your junk, and the fabric as mentioned before feels wonderful.

Backside: Another incredibly fun and sexy aspect to this pair is the slit opening in the back, allowing a teasing hint of each cheek to show, assuming you’re already out of your regular pants. If your pants are on, the relatively small size of the hole means you probably won’t be subjecting your backside to the pants fabric, so the only thing you might feel is that slight hint of a draft back there, which honestly is probably a bit of a plus. Even though these hipsters aren’t incredibly tall, the backside provides basically full coverage, save for the slit of course. If the slit wasn’t enough to look at already, you can see a hint of some hems just under the cheeks, which gives the pair that added extra little bit of visual variety to make it quite attractive to look at, in my opinion!
Legs: There are barely any legs here to speak of with how short these hipsters are, but the leg openings are quite nice. The black fabric is the same as the orange above it – soft, stretchy, lightweight, and breathable – while the fact that this “hem” has some good vertical height to it means that the legs don’t really ride or roll up very much as all, which is a great touch.
Other: Wanjiang has apparently recently rebranded as “Karen Space”, which is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen. Also, like many Asian brands, there doesn’t seem to be an obvious title for each different cut that they manke, which is frustrating for a blogger like me. X-D
Overall: 5/5 – It feels weird to me to declare something a “favorite” with less than two full days of wear, but I think this pair is amazing. It’s quite comfy, there’s enough coverage and ease of motion to use as an everyday pair, while also being visually appealing and also having just enough extra access to take into the bedroom too. The only small downside is that it takes an extra minute or two to put on in the morning, as you have to take the pouch off and then on again in order to easily thread yourself into the C-ring, but that’s a fairly minor concern IMO.

Thirsty Thursday 9/19

I hadn’t heard of J.J. Malibu before, so I decided to go look at their website… And even with the mesh here, this is probably one of the tamest pairs they have to offer! Seriously, go check their underwear options out. Lots of fun imagery right in the fun zone of each pair. X-D It looks like like J.J. Malibu is kind of a Canadian version of Andrew Christian, with some of the blogs and the videos they make…

Anyway, these here are one of the “mesh boxers” that J.J. Malibu has to offer. Mesh itself is always fun, and even without a rooster, pig, or penguin right on the bulge, there’s certainly a nice amount of bulge there with not much left to the imagination… And, of course, mesh is generally fun to have as well! Short legs, too, which I personally don’t like to wear as much, but they look good on guys like this.

…you know, I wasn’t feeling very thirsty writing any of that above, but re-reading those paragraphs makes me think I’m moving this to be a Thursday post, just from some of the wording that popped up. X-D

The lighting here makes the pair look reddish, but the site lists it as “coral”. The short legs are also shorter than J.J. Malibu’s other “mesh boxers” – difference between the originals and the 2.0 boxers. Of note, uses the “four-way stretch” that I’ve seen an mentioned on a few previous pairs.

Aussiebum – ComfyFit Brief – Orange – M

060

Material: 90% cotton, 10% Elastane, lightweight and soft but not quite as soft of you might expect a cotton mix to be. Breathable and stretchy too.
Aesthetic: The main fabric of this pair is plain orange, and while orange is my favorite color, the pair might seem a little plain if that was it. However, the waistband has a belt-like look to it with white and gold on a brown base, which adds a fun little flair to the pair. The visual seams are also at fun angles.
Waistband: Fairly typical as far as waistbands go, I’d say. Middle-height, fairly solid but still nicely stretchy and soft enough. The tag in back is fairly big, but soft enough to be generally unnoticeable.
Pouch: Not aggressively promoting but still shaped well – gives you space without being loose. Very nicely supportive of your balls in the lower half of the pouch.
Backside: Nothing to really write home about, but I like the full coverage, and there is a hint of shaping for your cheeks right before the backside comes down between your legs.
Legs: This pair has a hem that’s a bit larger than you find on a lot of other briefs (thought I’m reminded of the legs on the first AussieBum brief I reviewed, so it has precedent in the brand) meaning they don’t cut in at all, stay in place nicely, and give that extra little bit of coverage – all while being as stretchy as the rest of the pair.
Overall: 3.5/5 – Screw it, I’m dropping the pair to 3.5, just with other reviews I’m done since. New standard! I went back and forth a lot on whether to give this a 3.5 or a 4… I lean toward a 3.5 since it’s definitely not quite as good as the Clan Brief, but comparing to other previous reviews as a whole, I think the 4 is more in-line with what I’ve established so far. Either way, this is a very good (if not outstanding) fly-less brief for general everyday wear!

Saxx – Fiesta Boxer Brief – Black Sunset – M

053

Material: 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex, which gives a nice, smooth, lightweight athletic-y feel to the pair. It’s also pleasantly tight all-around, holding all you in place very nicely.
Aesthetic: This pair starts with a general solid-black look, which is relatively sleek and slimming, so good start. It’s then accented with a blue-to-orange fade-though waistband and two lines of orange stitching as the edges of the pouch. The “sunset” waistband gives a look that I can only describe as “cool”, and the pouch seams are both eye-catching and classy. The simple but bold off-center statement of the brand name in black all-caps letters is also a confident touch.
Waistband: The waistband has a nice stretch to it, but the material feels a bit… stiffer? than the typical waistband. The edges are certainly more noticeable. That’s not necessarily a bad thing – it’s not something I notice much while wearing the pair, at least. What I’m trying to say is that the waistband is perfectly comfy even though the material is a bit atypical.
Pouch: Saxx is know for its unique pouch design – it’s what they advertise about their brand – but notably the pouch is special on the inside, not on the outside. Outside, the pouch is fairly unremarkable. Comfortable size, no noticeable shape to write home about. But inside are two specially-designed mesh-y panels that come down from the waistband at both upper corners of the pouch area and meet at the bottom of the pouch in the middle right between your legs.

This “BallPark Pouch” was designed to be a no-hassle way of keeps your balls away from your thighs – and it’s a massive success in that regard in my experience! I specifically bought a pair of Saxx underwear to try out this comparatively high-tech way of reducing friction and chafing (I’ve also very recently bought a pair of Sheath brand underwear for the same reason) since you rarely see inside-the-pouch support features aside from built-in C-rings (which aren’t usually intended for the same effect). Unlike C-rings and highly-shaped pouches, there isn’t anything you need to do to make sure your boys correctly slip inside the BallPark hammock short of simply pulling the boxer-briefs on. The mesh-y side panels are also soft and incredibly lightweight, so you’ll barely ever notice that you even have fabric between your balls and your thighs. The only potential drawback about this pouch – and it’s incredibly minor – is that all of the design effort went into protection in the horizontal direction, and no design effort in the vertical direction; specifically, while you boys are protected from your thighs on both sides, there’s no real support to them from below, so if you don’t like having them “hanging” all the time, that can be one incredibly minor drawback (it’s a boxer-brief, so there’s not much “hang” to worry about – just a lack of any support above what the genearl overall cut already provides). This particular pair doesn’t have a fly, which I would think would be necessary for this pouch design, but apparently Saxx sells vertical-fly pairs too, so I’m curious how that works out.
Backside: Pretty plain! As mentioned before, the fabric itself is nicely supportive and holds you in place well. Tag is printed on the inside top of the back of the pair, and it’s also pretty unnoticeable.
Legs: Tight enough but definitely not a hassle at all. This pair, as a boxer-brief, doesn’t have legs quite as long as I would like, but the fabric is nice enough that it doesn’t seem to roll up my thighs much at all, which is nice.
Overall: 4.5/5 – I’m not giving this a 5/5 since there isn’t anything that really pushes it “over the top” at all, but it’s a damn good pair – I think everyone should try Saxx at some point.
