AussieBum – Hibiscus Trunk – Red – M

083

Material: 90% Cotton, 10% Elastane, and incredibly smooth and comfy! Now, after the first trip through the wash, the pair lost a little bit of its sleekness and such, but this is splitting hairs – it’s still quite lightweight and relatively low-friction as cotton blends go. Great amount of stretch. The only drawback to this fabric is that it seems to like to (visually) bunch up a lot – it took forever to get good pictures even though I never needed to provide any significant stretching to make the fabric lie flat on me (and could never get it perfect in the back view).
Aesthetic: Really playful! I love the flower print. Honestly, I had wanted the pink version instead of this red (and blue) version, but I still love the look. In addition to the print pattern, there are a bunch of seams on this pair that you don’t really feel at all but can definitely see, helping to visually emphasize the pouch, length of the legs from the front, and the curve of your cheeks in back.
Waistband: Fairly typical! Not much to say.
Pouch: Such a good pouch… Nicely shaped so that it’s separate from the thighs, sticks out forward enough, and the give of the fabric gives a nice amount of motion without feeling loose at all. Honestly, similar to the BodyDenim pair I reviewed a long time ago.
Backside: Very nice! The print pattern and seams give it a bunch of visual interest, and I think the seams also help shape the backside well, giving it a nicely round look. There’s also an impressive separation between your cheeks with this pair! Don’t worry, it doesn’t feel like a wedgie at all – just looks a bit like it (in a good way)!
Legs: Despite being called a “trunk”, the legs here actually have a nice length IMO (and, to be fair, in the item description on the site, it says “brief and long leg styles”, so I guess this is actually one of the “long leg”s).
Overall: 5/5 – while I’m not sure if this pair rises to the level of being a “favorite”, I can’t really find anything wrong with this pair either! Heck, it’s overall very similar to the BodyDenim I mentioned earlier, which was also a 5/5 and a favorite, with an honestly better waistband now to boot… I guess this pair will probably join the ranks of favorites for me soon, it’s just not well-established in my mind yet.
Great for: Everyday wear, Loungewear, Sexy wear
Good for: Sleepwear, Activewear

Popping with PUMP! Here we have a bold boxer-brief/trunk, which is a but surprising to say for a pair that’s mostly white, but I think you can see why this pair is so visually stunning. The three colors involved are all quite crisp, and the paneling makes your eyes instantly focus on the orange pouch (and inner thighs, it seems).

The fabric looks fairly comfortable – if I had to wager a guess, probably some cotton blend. The waistband also looks similar. At least, even if it’s a different material, it looks pretty comfortable as well. It’s also sitting quite low on the model’s hips here…

The one thing I don’t 100% like about this picture is that the lighting combines with the orange and the angle to make it hard to really discern the shape of the pouch, even with the black seam going down the front. I think I can see some anatomy contours on our right, so I’m guessing the pouch is actually fairly deep and well-shaped as well as being comfortably snug, but it’s still a bit hard to tell. At the very least, the outer fly opening looks fairly tall, so I would hope it’s a nicely functional pair in that regard!

I’ve reblogged a PUMP! pair once before, and even though I said I really need to try the brand out, I still haven’t done so… I really need to fix that soon.

AussieBum – BodyStretch Trunk – White/Blue – M

081

Material: 68% Nylon, 25% Polyester, 7% Spandex, at least according to the website, but it says 50% Cotton, 22% Nylon, 20% Polyester, 8% Elastane on the pair itself, which is a surprisingly large difference – with the Cotton, that is (remember that Spandex and Elastane are two names for the same thing). Whatever it’s made of, this fabric is lovingly stretchy – even though the cut is very square, the fabric basically conforms to your body and anatomy in an incredible hug that in now way is uncomfortably tight or whatever else you might expect for something that draws in a lot. This pair reminds me very much of three seamless trunks I bought a long time ago from Knocker (and are still available!) that was advertised as one-size-fits-all, and surprisingly those fit both an XL friend of mine and an S friend of mine, both friends finding the pairs comfy and good-looking on them. The fabric on those pairs was 90% Nylon, 10% Spandex, which felt just a hair thicker and less breathable than the AussieBum fabric here, but that would be me splitting hairs; I’m not sure if the different mix for this AussieBum pair limits its size-flexibility, but I would not be surprised. If you look very closely at the pair, you’ll notice that there’s a different stitching style across different parts in a way that defines where the pouch is in front and where the cheeks are in back.
Aesthetic: Stripes is always a fun look, and the specific somewhat-faded shades of red and blue here provide a look that’s both laid-back and a “loud pop” at the same time. The fact that the waistband blends smoothly into the rest of the pair makes it look less like underwear, giving it a swimwear or even a bodypaint look, both of which are quite nice. There are many other BodyStretch trunks available, all with wildly different color schemes to fit whatever mood you want!
Waistband: As mentioned above, it blends very much into the rest of the pair because it’s the same fabric throughout – there is nothing that separates the white fabric of the waistband from the white background of the fabric lower down aside from the slight difference in stitching pattern mentioned earlier. Nothing extra added to the waistband at all; the comfortable grip of the fabric itself is enough to hold the pair on nicely. The information that would normally be on a tag is instead printed on the inside of the back part of the waistband, which along with the print text of “AussieBum” on the outside of the front, is the only obvious was to tell what is and isn’t the waistband.
Pouch: Unlike the Knockers I compared this to above, which are totally flat, there is some definition to the pouch on this pair, with just enough extra fabric (in a slightly different stitching) for the pouch to come forward a little bit. I’m not sure if that effort from AussieBum was needed or effective, as the nature of the fabric itself makes it hug to and conform around your junk, making its own amazing pouch anyway. This means it both holds you in place, but allows you to move as much as you want, because it just lets you move while always conforming as necessary. Really, it feels incredible (I had a bit of trouble getting proper pictures because I was, ah, reacting to the pouch a bit too much most of the time).

Backside: Nice to look at with all the stripes here! The two-color gradient provides a nice effect for where the overall curve of your cheeks are. There’s also a nice bit of shaping with the separation curve between the legs near the bottom of your cheeks. As noted above, there is a very slight difference in the stitching to help “set” your cheeks into the pair, which I think is a nice touch.
Legs: The legs on this are a bit short, which (for me) means they’re likely to roll up. When not rolled, the stretchiness of the fabric makes the leg openings amazing; when they roll up, it can be hit or miss, especially depending on just how much rolling you get, but it’s generally not an issue. On occasion, though, you definitely will want to readjust and unroll those “hems”, which could be a tad awkward in public settings.
Overall: 4.5/5 – even with the occasional leg rolling issue, I absolutely love this pair. It’s unique and incredibly comfortable, and a nice look as well. Honestly I was thinking about going the full 5/5, but I think I have to give at least the smaller knock for the leg thing. Also, I still don’t know exactly what’s going on with the fabric definition…
Great for: Loungewear, Sleepwear Sexy wear
Good for: Everyday wear

Wanjiang – Hipsters w/ open back – Orange – M

071

Material: 89% Rayon, 11% Spandex, and while it’s clearly not cotton, it has a very cotton-like softness to it, which I really like, on top of the fact that it’s lightweight, stretchy, and almost cool to the touch.
Aesthetic: Bold and attention-getting! This orange isn’t a common color to being with, and the black-vs-orange contrast is played up so well with this pair, from the thin orange line tracing the middle of the waistband to the black lining around the pouch to the hint of black hems you can see under the cheeks from the back view or the hems on the hips. The shiny snap visible at the top of the pouch is also a very intriguing and show-off-y touch. Everything is loud, everything pops; and the shape is visually great too, with a relatively short profile top to bottom and a nice square-cut look (which wears more like two halves of a V on me!)
Waistband: Just a hair on the tall side, and very soft, so I like it a lot. It’s got a good stretch, and a good thickness to it too – it’s going to weather some good tugs. 😉 The pair sits nicely on your hips while also coming a bit low in front. The tag in back is soft and largely unnoticeable.
Pouch: Okay, there are three different components to this “pouch”, so let’s go through all of them. The base layer of the pair has an open front, which has comfy enough edges, but would be a little on the large side if taken on its own. It’s not alone, though, as built in to the pair is a nice, comfy, elastic C-strap similar to those found with the Mckillop slings I had reviewed a long time ago, although this one is attached to the top of the pouch area instead of the bottom. This C-strap is quite comfortable, thankfully, and does a great job of lifting and forwarding your junk. Lastly, then, is the flap-like pouch itself, a small but very nicely shaped lens of fabric that attaches to the main pair with two snaps at the top and bottom of the pouch. It does a great job of cupping your junk, and the fabric as mentioned before feels wonderful.

Backside: Another incredibly fun and sexy aspect to this pair is the slit opening in the back, allowing a teasing hint of each cheek to show, assuming you’re already out of your regular pants. If your pants are on, the relatively small size of the hole means you probably won’t be subjecting your backside to the pants fabric, so the only thing you might feel is that slight hint of a draft back there, which honestly is probably a bit of a plus. Even though these hipsters aren’t incredibly tall, the backside provides basically full coverage, save for the slit of course. If the slit wasn’t enough to look at already, you can see a hint of some hems just under the cheeks, which gives the pair that added extra little bit of visual variety to make it quite attractive to look at, in my opinion!
Legs: There are barely any legs here to speak of with how short these hipsters are, but the leg openings are quite nice. The black fabric is the same as the orange above it – soft, stretchy, lightweight, and breathable – while the fact that this “hem” has some good vertical height to it means that the legs don’t really ride or roll up very much as all, which is a great touch.
Other: Wanjiang has apparently recently rebranded as “Karen Space”, which is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen. Also, like many Asian brands, there doesn’t seem to be an obvious title for each different cut that they manke, which is frustrating for a blogger like me. X-D
Overall: 5/5 – It feels weird to me to declare something a “favorite” with less than two full days of wear, but I think this pair is amazing. It’s quite comfy, there’s enough coverage and ease of motion to use as an everyday pair, while also being visually appealing and also having just enough extra access to take into the bedroom too. The only small downside is that it takes an extra minute or two to put on in the morning, as you have to take the pouch off and then on again in order to easily thread yourself into the C-ring, but that’s a fairly minor concern IMO.
Great for: Sex wear, Sexy wear
Good for: Everyday wear, Loungewear

AussieBum – Orbit Trunk – Red – M

070

Material: 92% Cotton, 8% Elastane, which is probably one of the best mixes out there if you want a cotton-y soft feeling that’s also lightweight and nicely stretchy! I certainly enjoy it quite a lot. =-)
Aesthetic: Pretty straightforward here, just a solid red with a nice black-and-white waistband featuring big, bold lettering. So, simple but effective!
Waistband: Good height, good stretch, basically what you’d expect of a nice comfortable waistband. As this is an AussieBum pair, the tag in the back is huge – almost a panel more than a tag – but it’s pretty soft and mostly (by feel at least) blends into the waistband. The corners of the tag panel can occasionally feel a bit pointy/scratchy, but depending on your pair, how you take care of it, and how you wear it, this may or may ot be an issue.
Pouch: None! It’s an open hole that lets your junk – all of it – hand out freely. In this case, the big question mark is the positioning, tightness, and edge-feel of the hole itself. On all three accounts, this pair absolutely excels! The hold here may look a bit small on the pair when not being worn, but it stretches very nicely to let your junk through and then snugs right up around your junk without feeling tight at all; the soft hem around the hole helps too. This is in contrast to the AC FUKR boxer where the hole in front is absolutely gigantic. Sure, it’s fun to show off some skin, but this lets the pair move around relative to your junk and provides no support at all, and as I said in that review, it allows for excess skin-on-skin contact, which isn’t fun either. AussieBum totally outdid AC here.
Backside: Nothing super notable back here, but definitely a nicely hugging backside overall. The diagonal hems provide a little bit of shape to the pair, and there’s a nice curve with some separation between the legs.
Legs: This is the one spot where I think this pair doesn’t quite hit the mark. There’s nothing really wrong with the stretch of the legs themselves or how the hems are – they’re fine, not too tight or too loose – but as I’ve mention in a few other reviews, I just prefer having a little bit of extra length on my trunk legs if I can get it because my huge thighs generally encourage legs to roll up a bit if they aren’t long enough, and of course rolling up adds a bit of tightness. For this pair, too, having the legs roll up a bit decreases the length of fabric that your junk can rest on, meaning that if they roll up enough, you might get some skin-on-skin contact between the scrotum and thighs too, which is one of the things I like to avoid. Still, I don’t think this draws away too much from the pair overall.
Overall: 4.5/5 – This is definitely one of my favorite pairs, and it’s such a shame that AussieBum doesn’t make these any more. I just wish the legs were a bit longer; then this pair would be perfect!

Thirsty Thursday 9/19

I hadn’t heard of J.J. Malibu before, so I decided to go look at their website… And even with the mesh here, this is probably one of the tamest pairs they have to offer! Seriously, go check their underwear options out. Lots of fun imagery right in the fun zone of each pair. X-D It looks like like J.J. Malibu is kind of a Canadian version of Andrew Christian, with some of the blogs and the videos they make…

Anyway, these here are one of the “mesh boxers” that J.J. Malibu has to offer. Mesh itself is always fun, and even without a rooster, pig, or penguin right on the bulge, there’s certainly a nice amount of bulge there with not much left to the imagination… And, of course, mesh is generally fun to have as well! Short legs, too, which I personally don’t like to wear as much, but they look good on guys like this.

…you know, I wasn’t feeling very thirsty writing any of that above, but re-reading those paragraphs makes me think I’m moving this to be a Thursday post, just from some of the wording that popped up. X-D

The lighting here makes the pair look reddish, but the site lists it as “coral”. The short legs are also shorter than J.J. Malibu’s other “mesh boxers” – difference between the originals and the 2.0 boxers. Of note, uses the “four-way stretch” that I’ve seen an mentioned on a few previous pairs.

In a bit of a theme for the rest of my posts this week, I’ll be showing off brands I’ve never really seen (or at least never really reviewed) before. First off, Baldrick Benjamin! Which seems like a very small-scale operation – almost like a one-man show, especially since the website doesn’t seem formatted incredibly well.

Anyway, the pair here shows of a very nice pouch, so it seems like a nicely supportive pair. It could be the lighting as well, but the pictures of the Magnificence Trunk on the site also seem to be universally shaped (and filled). The material looks stretchy and slick, which makes sense since it’s listed as 96% Modal and 4% Spandex. Might be worth looking in to.

I can just barely make out text of some sort on this guy’s left thigh… If anyone else can make it out better than I can, let me know!

Fairly square-cut pair of short swim trunks here; looks like a nice solid material for sure. No real pouch to speak of, but it doesn’t look like it’s uncomfortable either. I like the blue camo patten.
