Andrew Christian – Night Animal Jock w/ Almost Naked – Print (neon blue, pink, & orange) – Medium

Material: 90% Polyamide, 10% Spandex, definitely lightweight and sleek and a bit sheer too, though also obviously synthetic, not the softest pouch fabric. (Straps are great though, soft & stretchy.)
Aesthetic: Andrew Christian comes through with the bright colors and bold designs the brand is known for to bring the party/rave feel with this “Night Animal” print! The bold, pink, large-print text on the waistband adds to the feel; everything lets you know whoever wears this is proud of how they look.
Waistband: Feeling-wise, what you expect of most waistbands, but every so slightly more synthetic-y than many of AC’s other waistbands. Still a good side. Generally sits between the hips and waist, but can be worn a bit higher or lower depending on preference.
Pouch: Advertised as Almost Naked, but strays a bit more away from that design than even the Sport & Workout Boxer did, which is probably a function of the fact that the pouch has some required stability due simply to being a jockstrap – if there’s no structure in the pouch, there’s not structure in the jock overall. Still very comfortable and moderately roomy, but it doesn’t offer the freedom of movement of other Almost Naked pairs. As a side note, something that’s also probably a function of being a jockstrap (though not always a problem with AC jockstraps) is that the lower half of the pouch border feels slightly on the tight side for some motions or just when standing, putting a little hem pressure on your crotch occasionally – sitting and most motions are fine, though.
Backside/straps: One thing AC does incredibly well at is making super-comfortable straps for their jockstraps, with a soft and stretchy strap that isn’t as “rough” as the straps are on vintage/traditional jockstraps. That’s probably a function of the fact that AC jockstraps are a bit more interested in comfort and look than honest athletic support, but I’ll take it! AC jockstraps have generally never let me down in heavy activity unless they weren’t comfortable enough to begin with. That said, there is one drawback to this pair, and that’s the tag: the material for the branded part of the tag seems stiffer than what AC has used elsewhere, leaving the corners & edges to poke & cut at the small of your back a little bit.
Other: One maybe silly test I always do with jockstraps is to see how comfortable (or not) they are when you try to pull your junk out BENEATH the pouch when you’re in a squatting position – i.e. if you can go #2 easily (implying #1 as well) without taking the jockstrap off at all. This pair passes the test!
Overall: 2.5/5 – the rating might be a bit harsh, because I wouldn’t say this is a “bad” jockstrap, but between slight lacks of comfort in the pouch fabric and in the tag, there are just a bunch of better jockstrap options out there, including from AC itself. Great looker, though!

N2N Bodywear – UN13 Classic Cotton Boxer  – Yellow – Medium

008

Material: 90% Cotton, 10% Spandex, incredibly soft and super lightweight! The latter comes from the fact that it also feels like the fabric is intentionally on the thin side, and somewhat loose. Also advertised as having “four-way stretch”, which I’m uncertain as to the exact meaning of that phrase.
Aesthetic: Simple and comfy, with a practical black waistband.
Waistband: Feeling-wise, what you expect of most waistbands. Sits between the hips and waist; good size.
Pouch: N2N calls it their “N-hance” pouch, and it certainly does provide a nice bit of enhancement! I find it similar to AC’s Almost Naked in terms of roominess and range of motion but definitely different in that the upper part of the pouch is a little more solidly shaped and that there’s a seam/hem/trim/piping/whatever that defines the pouch by looping from the waistband down beneath your balls (you can really see its effect in the leftmost image above). I like N-hance for providing that extra bit of structure that Almost Naked doesn’t have, but at the same time you run the risk of that structure being maybe an eighth of an inch too high, which occasionally puts a bit of strain on the underside of the scrotum.
Backside: Not much to write home about here since the pair is, overall, a bit on the loose side. That might be from age, but even the pics on N2N’s website show very little shape – no real curve under the cheeks, either between each other or between them and the legs. The looseness might also cause the occasional wedgie, but nothing incredibly offensive (especially if you like thongs). If you’re not looking to show anything off, it’s really comfy.  Tag is unnoticeable.
Legs: Neither short nor long, they’re generally very comfy around my upper thighs. The only issue is that, between their only-moderate length and the general looseness of the pair, the legs can ride up on me not uncommonly, bunching up both between my legs and up by my hips. It’s not a huge problem, because the material is loose and lightweight enough that it has to get REALLY bunched up to actually be disruptive – so not a huge knock on the pair overall.
Other: The current title for UN13 is “Classic Cotton Pouch Boxer”, (i.e. the word “Pouch” has been added, to distinguish it from UN16 with the same title as this reviewed pair,) which has longer legs and is advertised as only being available in white and black (though black is sold out completely, and the white is available on sale in just Small). It’s also 80/20 instead of 90/10 in terms of material.
Overall: 3/5 – I personally LOVE this pair for sleeping in and some general wear, but I feel that most guys won’t really go for something that’s a tad loose and mostly cotton, so I can’t really rate it too highly. Still, the pouch is great, so if you want to try the newer UN13 with less cotton and longer legs, I’d say it’d definitely be wroth trying.
